Krista was graciously nominated for 2 awards as part of and the City of Grande Prairie's event / recognition awards.
She wanted to share her message with all - because the ripple effect is real - and sometimes the smallest of messages or steps taken can make huge change!!
This is what she had to say:
I am incredibly grateful to have been nominated for two Women of Influence Awards this year — the Workplace Leadership Award and the Game Changer Award.
While I didn’t take home the award, being nominated was truly meaningful and a huge honor. It was such a beautiful and emotional surprise to learn that members of my own team took the time to nominate me.
I feel incredibly lucky to be so passionate about the work I do and the ability I have to help people heal. I’m equally grateful for the opportunity to give back — to colleagues, students, clients, and our community — in ways that hopefully inspire growth, collaboration, and better healthcare.
These nominations didn’t slow me down — if anything, they’ve fueled me even more. My commitment to making change isn’t going anywhere.
At Progressive Physiotherapy and Wellness, we are working hard to evolve what healthcare can look like: collaborative, compassionate, innovative, and focused on treating people like people — not numbers.
And we’re just getting started.
With an incredible team beside me, I truly believe Progressive is a clinic to watch as our practitioners continue to push boundaries and grow what healthcare can be.
One day. One injury. One client at a time.
Thank you to everyone who supports, believes in, and grows alongside me. 💙

I want to still share the speech I prepared - because the message is powerful for all people. City of Grande Prairie
Good afternoon everyone,
First, congratulations to all the incredible women nominated today. It is truly an honor to stand in a room filled with so many strong, inspiring leaders who are helping shape our community.
Four years ago, Progressive Physiotherapy & Wellness was just an idea and a stubborn belief that healthcare could be better. Today it has grown into two locations and a team of more than 30 incredible staff who make that vision come to life every single day.
What drives me is simple — I just want more for people.
More support. More multi and interdisciplinary collaboration and more humanity in healthcare.
As a physiotherapist, I’ve dedicated my career to helping people heal, but also to creating an environment where staff, students, and clients feel safe, supported, and valued. I am truly lucky to possess the skills and knowledge to heal with my hands, help others grow with my knowledge and learn from all my interactions every day to continue to develop the best version of me, and the best version of others. I am a huge believer we should treat people like people — not numbers — and I’m working every day to help change what healthcare can look like.
I want to thank the two members of my team who nominated me – Shaun Perry and Alexandra Kunz. It was a complete surprise and a very emotional one. I’m also tremendously lucky to be here today with my amazing manager, Caralyn Gagnon, who has been with me since day one and has seen every version of Krista Reid along the way – the tired, the happy, the emotional, the sick, ALL OF MY ADHD and best of all, my really terrible singing. I may not be able to sing, but I assure you, I am a lyrical genius.
None of this happens alone. I’m incredibly grateful for the staff who inspire me daily, the clients who trust in us (even the ones I had to reschedule /fit in to be here today while booking nine weeks out), and the many people I continue to learn from. Because the truth is, none of us succeed alone, and no one person knows everything.
Real success isn’t standing on a stage receiving an award.
Real success is the ripple effect we create — through the people we support, mentor, and lift up along the way. Making change can start with one person, but continues to affect so many.
So today, whether you take home an award or not, every woman here has already made a meaningful impact on this community. And that deserves to be celebrated. Congratulations to all nominees once again.
I am proud to be a woman of influence and so should all of you, Thank you.
