A group of volunteer lawyers will be offering up a free legal advice clinic Saturday at the Grande Prairie Public Library. People can sign up for a 45-minute in-person consultation with a lawyer to discuss civil, family, immigration, or social benefits (like AISH, CPP Disability, or Income Support benefits) legal matters.

It is new year, new you right?? January algorithms are full of self improvement suggestions. Diets. Workouts. Coaching. And yes, even therapy! Please take your time if you are looking at starting with a therapist in 2026. Ask questions. Read about their experience and education. Understand what their specialty areas are. Ask for a consultation if you need more information. Please do not seek out therapy services from someone who advertises themself as a mental health coach. Coaching has its place - of course it does. But it doesn’t have a space in the active treatment of mental health and trauma. Please reach out if myself (or Shyann) can help. 💙

This has been over a year in the making! I am excited to announce an addition to the services offered in my practice. For awhile now, I have been working with clients from a therapy side on living in or leaving high conflict relationships. Court has just been another place that their ex-partner can abuse them. Over the course of the last year, I have sought out education to help me to guide my clients on what they can do to help their legal team have more successful outcomes, or at least find ways to get through things with fewer battle scars. Please spread the word! These sessions are not therapeutic in nature, therefore they are not likely to be covered by people's insurance plans. Appointments can be booked through my www.sbaincounselling.com website. Services are offered in person in Grande Prairie, but also Alberta wide virtually. 💙

Happy Holidays! Wishing you and your loved ones all the best. Holidays can be hard. They can be a reminder of the fractures in our relationships; reminders of those who are missing this year, etc. Just a reminder that it is okay to have limits. It is okay to hold your boundaries. I hope you can find joy in the small and simple moments. All the best in 2026. 💙🎄
