The first Full Moon of the year rises on Saturday, January 3, bringing us the beautiful Wolf Moon. This Full Moon is also a Supermoon, so expect it to look slightly larger and brighter than a typical full moon as it comes closer to Earth.

✨ Bonus skywatch: Look closely and you’ll notice a bright, star-like object near the Moon — that’s Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, glowing nearby and adding extra magic to the scene.

Step outside, look up, and enjoy this magical start to the year. Clear skies to everyone!

The snowfall warning for the Grande Prairie area ended early this morning. Environment Canada says we can expect another five centimetres today and two to four centimetres tonight.

The Grande Prairie Airport recorded 8.4 centimetres on New Year's Day, well short of the January 1st record of 10.7 centimetres set in 1963.
