If you’ve ever felt a little nervous about eye dilation drops, you’re not alone. We hear it all the time. 😌

Here’s what it actually feels like:

The drops might sting for a few seconds, and your eyes can feel a bit watery or sensitive to light. After that, your pupils slowly widen, which can make things look blurry up close for a few hours. It’s temporary, and it’s completely normal!

Rate your dilation experience out of 10 in the comments. 😉

Spring is almost here, which means sports season is kicking back into gear. Whether you’re signing your child up for another season or lacing up your own cleats, it’s worth asking… is your vision ready for it? 👀

Clear eyesight is only part of the equation. Performance in any sport relies on reaction time, depth perception, eye tracking, peripheral awareness, and focus. Those visual skills play a huge role in how confidently and efficiently you move. And the best part? They can be trained!

At Aurora Eye Care, our Sports Vision Training is designed to help athletes of all ages strengthen the connection between their eyes and brain. From young competitors to adult athletes who still love the game, we tailor training to the individual, the sport, and the goals behind it. 🏀

Because great care is never one-size-fits-all. We take the time to understand how you move, compete, and perform, so we can support you in playing at your full potential this season.

Staring at screens all day can leave your eyes feeling tired, irritated, and hard to focus. 🥲

A few small habits can make a big difference in relieving digital eye strain. One simple place to start is the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for about 20 seconds. It gives your eyes a chance to rest, blink normally again, and reset before jumping back into your screen.

The right lenses can help too! Anti-fatigue lenses and office lenses are designed to support your eyes during computer and close-up work, helping reduce the strain that builds throughout the day. Blue-light coatings can also limit the amount of blue light entering your eyes from screens, which may help with focusing and overall comfort. 😉

The good news is that relief is often simpler than you think! A proper eye exam allows us to find the root cause of the problem and recommend solutions that fit your daily routine.

If eye strain has become part of your day, it might be time to take a closer look. Book an appointment with our team, and let’s help your eyes feel comfortable again!

That was definitely not me in your dreams last night. 🙂‍↔️

Unless I was reminding people to clean their glasses with the proper cloth, to wear sunglasses when outside, and to have regular eye exams...

Otherwise, that must've been a nightmare! 😉

There’s a moment when you try on the right pair of glasses… and you just know. 🤔

Not because someone told you they look good, but because you can feel it.

Your posture changes a little, you smile without thinking, and you turn your head side to side and think, okay… these are me.

Choosing new eyewear isn’t just about face shape and measurements; we also consider your brows, features, lens position, and the technical fit. It’s about how you feel walking into work on Monday, at your kid’s hockey game, on a date, at a meeting, and grabbing coffee with friends.

That’s why we don’t rush the process. We adjust, compare, and ask what you love and what you’ve hated in the past. We look at your lifestyle, your prescription, and how you use your glasses day-to-day.

Tell us, when you’re picking new glasses… are you bold and statement-making, or classic and timeless? 😉

Quick question: when was your last eye exam? 🤔

We often hear, “I can see fine, so I’m probably okay.” And sometimes that’s true. But sometimes, your eyes are working a lot harder than they should be! Headaches at the end of the day, blurry distance vision when driving, tired, dry, irritated eyes after screen time, even small changes can be signs that it’s time to check in.

Eye exams aren’t just about updating your prescription. They’re about protecting your long-term eye health, catching concerns early, and making sure you’re seeing clearly and comfortably in every part of your life! 😎

If you’re noticing changes or if it’s been over two years, it may be time to book your next comprehensive exam.

Check out our blog to see if it's time for your next eye exam. 👀

If your eyes have been feeling irritated lately, don’t just brush it off! 🙅‍♀️

We often see reactions related to lash extensions, adhesive sensitivities, and makeup not being fully removed at the end of the day.

Your eyes shouldn’t have to tolerate ongoing irritation in the name of beauty routines.

Sometimes it’s a simple fix. Such as a product change, an improved lid hygiene routine, or a break from extensions. But the key is figuring out what’s actually causing it, not just trying to soothe it over and over. 😉

If something feels off, trust that instinct. Book in. Let’s take a look and get to the root of it.

Healthy eyes always come first! 💚
