I have this vision of women being empowered, connected and inspired by fellow women in their community. Where they are unconditionally supported, nurtured and accepted for their authentic selves. (We'd all love in an eco village, collect morning eggs and braid each other's hair...ok a girl can dream haha) This is why I became a doula five years ago. This is where I can make a difference. Pregnancy and birth is where women find their roar...where they feel like they could climb Mount Everest. And if they haven't they DESERVE to feel it. For me, the journey of motherhood has been where I have found myself and learned what I need to be all I can be. I am passionate about inspiring others to do the same. I empower mums by sharing knowledge, listening without judgement and giving her (and her support team) the tools to help her have a positive birth experience. Above all, I aim to show her she has the strength and ability to carry, birth and mother her baby. She's meant to do it. I educate families on the importance of self care and nurturing themselves as I truly believe this makes all the difference in our journey and relationships. When we are lifted up and believe in ourselves throughout pregnancy and birth it follows us through our life. It lights a fire within and we are a force to be reckoned with.
Becoming pregnant with my first child initiated my curiosity for anything pregnancy and birth related. It had always been an interest of mine but once I entered the world of motherhood I just couldn't get my hands on enough information. We hired a doula for our first birth and since our first meeting I knew I wanted to be part of the ever-growing birth community. Shortly after having our son in 2011 I took my doula training with DONA international and I have been a doula ever since. I've learned so much through each of my doula clients births as well as my own. My last pregnancy I was lucky enough to have a midwife and learned a tremendous amount. I strive to support and empower women to feel confident in the choices they make for their pregnancy, birth and motherhood.
I'm the mother to three busy little humans and wife to a ridiculously supportive husband. Yes, the last two things have a huge part of who I am but I'm not just mom and wife.
I am a passionate, independent and accepting woman who loves to learn. I am raw, honest and do my best to be unapologetically me. I am an energetic chatty-Cathy. I enjoy adventuring outdoors, sketching, cooking and having living room dance parties. I love connecting and sharing with other women on their motherhood journey; it just lights my fire!
