🦴 Meet the Staff Monday – The Dynamic Duo Edition! 🦴

What’s better than one chiropractor? TWO — especially when they’re married and running the show together!

Together, they’ve built a place where your spine gets the VIP treatment, and your wellness is priority #1!

👩‍⚕️ Dr. Jen is the calming, steady presence in the office — known for her gentle approach and deep knowledge.

👨‍⚕️Dr. Brett is the guy who somehow knows a little bit about everything. He’s passionate about helping patients understand how their bodies work, especially when it comes to the nervous system. Come for the adjustment and stay for the brainy side notes.

They’re the team behind the magic here, and we seriously couldn’t do it without them.

Come meet them in person — your spine will thank you!

"We have enjoyed practicing in the Peace Country for the last 31 years and have operated at the Northwest Wellness Centre in Grande Prairie since 2009. We have witnessed a lot of change over this time, and our experience has taught us that you can’t stand still. Learning new therapeutic techniques in chiropractic and acupuncture is crucial for staying current and providing the best therapy to our patients. Investing in new equipment like lasers, shockwave machines, and various electrical modalities helps us treat more complex problems that our patients present with. This summer we completed renovations to the second floor to provide more space for new services. We developed a large common room that can be used got workshops, yoga practice, and educational classes. The room is available to rent on an hourly or daily basis to other health care practitioners who need a safe and inviting space to help their clients."

As our Meet the Staff Mondays series comes to an end, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who followed along. This series has been a wonderful way to highlight the talent, dedication, and passion of the individuals who make Northwest Wellness Centre thrive. 💛

We’re proud of our team and grateful for the opportunity to share their stories with you. Stay connected for more updates, insights, and initiatives from our team in the weeks ahead.💐

🐾 Pawfficial Staff Introduction: Meet Lucy! 🐾
Lucy is Dr. Adams and Dr. Hessel’s pup. She has a lot to say so I’ll just let her take it from here:

Hi everyone! 🐶✨
I’m Lucy, your office dog and self-appointed Chief Happiness Officer here at the centre. I may be small (I’m a Yorkie, after all), but my job is big: spreading joy, stealing hearts, and following Dr. Adams absolutely everywhere.

A little about me:
I’m a rescue pup who found her forever home and now her forever office. You’ll usually spot me trotting faithfully behind Dr. Adams — whether she’s heading to a meeting or checking on patients

🐾 Here’s what you can expect from me on a typical day:
• Shadowing Dr. Adams like it’s my full-time job (because it is)
• Offering emotional support during stressful moments
• Keeping the floor and foot stools warm with strategic nap placements
• Supervising break time snacks with laser focus
• Random bursts of zoomies when the mood strikes
• Making sure everyone gets their daily dose of ME!

I’m so excited to be here and I can’t wait to meet each and every one of you. Don’t be shy — come say hi, give me a gentle scratch behind the ears, or just tell me I’m cute. I won’t argue. Sometimes I can be a bit timid when I first meet you but I’m working on it 😊

Sniff ya later,
Lucy Adams- Hessel
Chief Happiness Officer

🌟 It’s Monday, which means it’s time to meet another amazing member of our team! 🌟

Say hello to Joanna, one of our incredible psychologists.🌻

Joanna is the kind of person who makes you feel seen, heard, and truly cared for from the moment you meet her. With a heart full of compassion and a deep commitment to helping others, she’s touched countless lives through her thoughtful, supportive approach. We’re so lucky to have Joanna on our team.🩷

“I am Joanna Moen, registered Psychologist and an Alberta native. After engaging in my own personal journey of healing, my thought was “if this can work for me, then it can work for others…”. After 15 years as a teacher, I embarked on further studies in psychology; and I feel honoured to do this work with my clients.

My range of therapies include CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), SFT (Solution-focused Therapy), hypnotherapy, EMDR (deep trauma healing work) and other eclectic strategies depending on your needs and wishes.

We all have issues, concerns and challenges. If you feel you would benefit from professional assistance in finding your way to happiness and wellbeing, I encourage you to come in for a session to determine if psychotherapy is a good ‘fit’ for you.

Healing does not mean that pain and damage never existed…it simply means that they no longer need to control you…

In the words of Leonard Cohen:

“there is a crack in everything…that’s how the light gets in.”

Be well, Be safe, Be happy. Celebrate yourself and those whom you love."

🤩Let’s twist and shout (gently, of course) for today’s Meet the Staff Monday — Dr. Jordyn Wees🏌️‍♀️🌸

I’m Dr. Jordyn Wees, a chiropractor with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Regina and a Doctor of Chiropractic from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
I take a patient-focused, evidence-based approach to care, helping people recover from pain, move better, and get back to doing what they love. My toolbox includes chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, rehab exercises, cupping, muscle release therapy, and a variety of other modalities.

I enjoy working with families of all ages, with special interests in women’s health, athletes/sports injuries, and those navigating chronic pain.

Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find me with my husband and our dog Cami, drinking too many vanilla lattes, FaceTiming my nephew Boh, baking French desserts, watching The Office for the hundredth time, golfing, or weightlifting.

I’m excited to be part of this community and look forward to supporting your health and wellness journey!

Be sure to also follow my Facebook (Dr. Jordyn Wees) and Instagram (.jordynwees) pages to stay connected and see more health tips, updates, and the occasional Office quote!
