She graduated from Grant MacEwan University and shortly after returned home to Grande Prairie. She started her business in 2012 and has been practicing in the Grande Prairie for 9 years; she is looking forward to expanding her business in the future. Kari has a passion for travel, adventure and connecting with others. After high school she worked in the service industry while attending Grande Prairie Regional College and traveling around the world. It was through travel that she experienced the healing capabilities of acupuncture. While surfing in Nicaragua, she was stung in the arm by a stingray, resulting in nerve damage and debilitating pain. After a year of taking medication the pain was still fluctuating so she decided to seek out other therapies. Acupuncture helped ease her pain to the point that she could get off her nerve medication and after 10 treatments the pain was gone. It was through her own experience with acupuncture that led her to continue on that path to a career. Forever a student, she has several certificates in sports medicine acupuncture as well as fertility and hormonal acupuncture. Her goal to continue her education to become more specialized in obstetrics, gynaecology and fertility in 2020. She has recently completed the A to Z Guide to Using Acupuncture in Pregnancy and Childbirth Course as well as the course 12 Points for Restoration and Balance Approach to Trauma Treatment. Currently she is taking the course Acupuncture Strategies to Dramatically Improve IVF Success. In addition to acupuncture courses, she has also completed a certificate in Tuina Massage and Moxibustion for Menstrual & Fertility Issues. She became interested in fertility and hormonal acupuncture when she helped her first fertility patient conceive. After that, many women and men started seeking her help and she saw a huge need in the Grande Prairie area. Helping women and men to feel their best and achieve their goals of having a family has been a huge drive in her passion to continue her specialization.

🌿 Spondylosis, Muscle Shortening & How Acupuncture Helps 🌿

In spondylosis (spinal degeneration), the nerves don’t always send strong signals to the muscles around the spine. Without proper stimulation, these muscles begin to shorten and weaken, almost like a plant shriveling without enough water.

As the paraspinal muscles shrink, they pull the vertebrae closer together, which increases pressure on the nerve roots. This creates a cycle: less nerve flow → more muscle shortening → more compression → more pain and stiffness.

✨ Acupuncture helps break this cycle.
By improving circulation and nerve communication, acupuncture encourages those shortened spinal muscles to relax and lengthen again. It also reduces inflammation, eases nerve irritation, and restores balance to the spinal segment.

Patients often notice:
✔️ Less pain and stiffness
✔️ Improved posture and mobility
✔️ Decreased nerve irritation (numbness/tingling)
✔️ Better overall spinal support

Think of acupuncture as a way to rehydrate and revive the “wilted” muscles around the spine—helping them support and protect your vertebrae more effectively. 🌱
