I’ll never stop saying it- this is what Yoga did for me. Gave me the chance to pause.
If you’re reactive, distracted, sometimes frustrated- learning how to slow it down changes so much.

On Fridays we rehab 💪🏼
Neck/shoulder will be the focus, about 15 minutes of mobility work with long deep breathing has been so helpful at decreasing pain, improving ROM, and improving sleep 😴

Realized today I couldn’t remember the last time I was upside down. Once upon a time this was an *almost everyday practice. The last few years I kind of forgot a lot about why I might move differently… it’s been humbling.
Quickly decided this was unacceptable and was relieved to learn, it’s still like riding a bike 😎🙃

Working on staying curious. Continuing or beginning to move more often. It’s humbling. Fun. And just a little weird 🙏🏻🤍

Autumn feels like a sigh of relief.
Cool down. Slow down. Let go. 🍂
Thinking this long weekend is trying to invite me to do the same. Do you have any rituals for Fall?

You’re going to have to learn how to slow down if you’re going to rest.
If I have learned anything the last few years, it’s that eventually that limitless battery we use to “push forward” can run empty.
The crash when that happens is tricky, humbling and in my experience so frustrating 🙈

I’ve been using these practices to return to myself for almost 20 years (!!!) and they never fail.

The part that’s difficult is knowing when we need to return to that cycle of stepping out of our go go go routine, slowing down, resting, changing what we need to.

This past summer/fall I find myself again working through those simple but challenging steps.
So, I start with making a space I want to sit still in- then see what happens from there. 🔁

If you’re having trouble on the first step- DM’s always open for an accountability partner, fellow mindful friend, or if you need cheerleader to share your wins!

It may be hot as can be this week but the season is changing!
A few crunchy leaves. A change in the morning air. Almost feels like a sigh of relief.

This month I’m committing to a self 30 day challenge of sorts. I haven’t taken great care of myself the last few years. Little bursts of consistency that get abandoned in the midst of life and stress. I don’t want another school year hanging by a thread- so 30 minutes, everyday for 30 days. If I have more time perfect but otherwise I’m treating this like brushing my teeth - non negotiable.

Sometimes you have to be willing to call yourself on your stuff and that moment is here for me.

If you’re also in a window of time that feels like a bit of consistency would go a long way DM! I’d love to have accountability partners this month ❤️❤️❤️

Working on remembering a few things over here.
Ashtanga Primary series feeling like a hug of familiarity 🥰
Admittedly, it feels like a lot more work when you have to start over after a long break but it was really good to move. Sometimes it feels like the absolute last thing I want to do, and every time the practice proves how effective it can be ❤️
Hope you’re taking care of yourself this summer season ☀️ 🙏🏻
