Care began with a small but determined group of parents and community members who believed children with developmental disabilities deserved access to education and opportunity?

In 1968, when children with developmental disabilities were not accepted into the regular school system, these advocates came together to create change. Their passion and persistence led to the organization officially registering in 1969 — laying the foundation for the inclusive work we continue today.

From those early days to now, our commitment to Independence, Inclusion, and Well-Being remains at the heart of everything we do.

Researchers at the University of Calgary are seeking participants for a study examining income supports and employment for persons with disabilities in Alberta, including the new Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP).

You may be eligible if you:
• Are 18-64 years old
• Live in Alberta
• Receive AISH, Income Support, ADAP, or live with a disability

Participation is voluntary and involves confidential surveys every six months through December 2028.
