Monday is here

Starting the day off on the right foot doesn’t mean everything needs to be perfect, laid out, organized, and easy.

Sometimes it means starting the day late because you slept in and that’s exactly what your body needed. Sometimes it looks like a rattled, unorganized mess, and even that has a purpose. Maybe you needed to start there. Maybe you needed to feel it all before you could move forward.

Not every morning begins with clarity or calm. Some begin with fog, slow movement, or scattered thoughts. And that doesn’t mean you’re behind. It means you’re human. It means your body, mind, or spirit is asking for something different.

Those moments can be part of the preparation. A clearing. A soft reset. A quiet reminder to listen before pushing ahead.

Every day is a new day.
And each morning, no matter how it begins, you get the chance to gently set the tone for what follows.

Be kind with yourself as you start. Especially today. 💛

An evening sunset met us outdoors during the cold snap last week.
Snowshoes on, breath visible, and our dog leading the way.
The kind of cold that sharpens your senses and reminds you that you are alive.
Out here, in the stillness and wide sky, the day finally settles.
This is where presence is found, shining constantly.

Monday Morning Horse

By John Tilley

A Monday morning horse, is often hard to find
A person might be looking high and low
The Monday morning horse, is the honest kind
When you catch him, he’ll be there and set to go

The Monday morning horse, don’t mind a little cinch
He saddles up, his hide does not get hard
He’s the type of partner, that’ll be there in a pinch
He rolls right out as you let down your guard

A Friday horse might come along, the one that takes all week
To finally get that horse to settle in
The kind of horse you ride, that’s not made for the meek
Five days passed is feeling like a win

So when the weekend’s over and you’re moving pretty slow
Fridays usually not the horse you catch
You go and catch ol’ Monday cause he’ll be good to go
That’s the horse you need to go and fetch

If you jump him off the trailer and you pull your cinches tight
You see a foot rot heading o’er the hill
He’ll hit the lope right now and put you there just right
No worry that you’ll ever take a spill

Your kids will ride him Sunday , and your wife will ride him too
He’ll take them to the picnic safe and sound
You never have to worry about what he’s gonna do
He’s solid and he’s safe the whole way round

Your Monday morning horse, should not be took for granted
If your lucky that you have one in your string
A special kind of horse, in your heart is firmly planted
Cause the Monday horse is sure a special thing

Feel free to post a photo of your Monday horse in the comments

Last Thursday and Friday we wrapped up another wonderful kids camp!

Despite the cold weather, we were still able to get outside for a snowshoe, visit the horses and warm up by the camp fire. The kids did an amazing job shoveling snow to create outdoor volcanoes.

Everyone had so much fun learning about volcanoes, creating their own out of paper mache and watching them explode.

We played indoor games, yoga and breath work, and made cinnamon buns. There was lots of laughter, teamwork, and curiosity throughout the two days.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended!

Joy.

Sometimes the line gets a little skewed, doesn’t it? We convince ourselves that if we pour everything into this one goal, this one achievement, this one moment we’ll finally feel joy. But joy isn’t meant to live only at the finish line.

Joy needs to be felt through the process… in the small steps, the messy middle, the quiet moments where no one is watching. Because if we don’t let ourselves experience joy along the way, how can we expect one single moment to sustain it?

Sure, it’ll feel good, maybe even amazing but only for a short time.

Joy is a lot like gratitude. We forget to notice it, we take it for granted, we assume it will just show up later. But joy asks us to feel it now. To tune into that spark, that expression, that release. To breathe into what lights us up, even in simple ways.

Ask yourself: What brings you joy… right now?

Not someday, not when everything is perfect...now.

Sit with that. Feel into it.

Be joy.

What If I Chose Being Grounded Instead?

What if I softened the places in my body that have been over-working for me?

The other day, driving down the road, I noticed how much weight I was carrying in my elbows. So much energy pushing forward, pulling myself through the day.

Always leaning ahead. Always propelling.
And I wondered, what if I chose being grounded instead?
So I tried it.

A few times that day, I shifted, not forward, but down.
Into my seat.
Into my hips.
Letting the weight move into my root rather than living in my arms and shoulders.

It changed everything.

What if a simple change in posture allowed momentum to come from the ground beneath me, rather than effort alone?

Next time you’re sitting, try this:

Feel into the back body.
Inhale energy rising through the spine.
Exhale what no longer needs to be with you.

Feel the grounding energy, feel the support.

I encourage you to do this a few times over the next couple days. Feel the difference. Maybe you just might want to make this a daily self care tool.

It’s the little things.
The little things that build up.
The quiet inconveniences we adapt to.
The small disturbances that slowly become normal.
We all have things in our homes that need repairing. Things we use daily. But instead of fixing them, we limp along and work around them.
For me, it was the sink in the laundry room.
It didn’t seem like a big deal. But twice a day, especially through the winter, I use that sink to make mash for our senior horses. Ever since we moved here, the hot water pressure had been off. It was always on the list, just never urgent enough.
Until Monday.
The hot water stopped working completely. Just cold. Barely flowing.
So we replaced the attachments, cleaned everything out, and cleared the buildup.

And now?
Full pressure. Smooth flow. Efficient.
So much so that I actually have to turn the dial down.
And it made me pause.

How often do we live our lives the same way?
Pressure turned up.
Energy stuck.
Flow restricted.
Constantly adapting instead of addressing what’s actually blocking us.
When energy can’t move, it doesn’t feel good.
It creates tension, fatigue, frustration, and stagnation.
But when we remove the block, when we clear what’s in the way,
flow returns.
Stability returns.
Ease returns.
This is what my intuitive energy sessions are truly about.
Removing blocks
Releasing stagnation
Creating space for energy to move the way it’s meant to
Not forcing.
Not pushing.
Just restoring flow.
Sometimes, it really is the little things that teach us the biggest lessons.
