The Alexander Muskoka Residence is thrilled to spotlight the talent of local artist Patti Parker.

I’ve become very passionate about the great outdoors and nature photography since moving from Niagara to Muskoka. I’m very fortunate to be able to step out into my backyard and see such incredible beauty. The connections I make with wild life always take my breath away and have captured my heart time and time again. I hope that my love of wild life can be seen and felt in my photographs and that they inspire you to feel emotion. I consider it such an honour to be able to get “ up close and personal” with my backyard friends and share precious moments with them.

We had such a beautiful Easter celebration at our home yesterday 🐣🌷

Our residents enjoyed a delicious Easter brunch surrounded by festive décor, beautifully set tables, and sweet little treats waiting at each place setting. The dining room was full of smiles, laughter, and wonderful conversation — a perfect way to celebrate the season together.

Moments like these remind us how special community truly is 💛

We are thrilled to welcome Brenda Turnour as our Artist in the Atrium. Brenda is a fourth-generation painter with deep artistic roots. She works primarily in acrylics, oils, and watercolors, capturing the beauty of our regional landscapes with extraordinary depth and color.
Brenda frequently exhibits throughout the Muskoka region, including Gravenhurst, and shares her expertise through workshops and international exhibitions. Recently, she joined our residents to discuss her creative process and passion for painting—a wonderful opportunity to connect art with community.

The Canadian Raceboat Hall of Fame is such a unique spot. The simulator is a big highlight; it really gives you a feel for what those high-speed runs are like without getting soaked or holding on for dear life.
It’s also great that residents enjoyed it—places like that are perfect for group visits since there’s a mix of hands-on fun and interesting stories behind the boats and racers.

We were so fortunate to have an incredible group of student volunteers join us over March Break at The Alexander Muskoka Residence 💙

During our pub-style Happy Hour, they were busy serving up delicious ice cream floats, sharing laughs, and helping create a lively afternoon filled with great music and even better company. 🍦🎶

Their energy, kindness, and willingness to jump in made such a meaningful impact on our residents’ experience. Moments like these remind us how special it is when generations come together to create connection, joy, and lasting memories.

Thank you to each of our amazing volunteers—you truly made the week unforgettable!

Our residents had a shamrockin’ good time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀

The evening was filled with laughter and great company as everyone enjoyed “shaking their shamrocks” along to Jimmy’s Classic Radio Show, who provided wonderful entertainment. We also treated our residents to some festive, specially crafted cocktails to make the night even more memorable.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful volunteers, Liam and Lucas, for their help in preparing for this special event—we couldn’t have done it without you!

It’s moments like these that bring so much joy and connection to our community. 💚

🎭 A little trip through local history!

Last night our residents enjoyed watching a special history presentation from the Gravenhurst Opera House celebrating the 125th anniversary of its very first performance on March 12, 1901.

It was wonderful to learn about the story of this treasured community landmark and the many years it has brought arts, culture, and entertainment to Gravenhurst. Our residents loved reflecting on the history and sharing memories of this special place in our community. ❤️

Learning about the places that shape our town is a meaningful way to stay connected to the community we call home.
