Want to know how to snag a last-minute appointment before the holidays?

My schedule is booked for the remainder of the year, but clients reschedule or cancel appointments from time to time, which then become open to my waitlist.

My waitlist allows last-minute appointment bookings that you may not see online or through the JaneApp, with a good chance that I will be able to fit you in, so it’s worth being on the list!

1️⃣Through my website, look for “Add yourself to Nathalie Lamothe’s waitlist.”
2️⃣Enter your availability, such as the days and times you’re interested in.
3️⃣Include a date range for when you’re interested in coming in.

What causes muscle soreness?

If you’ve had an intense deep tissue massage, or your therapist was working hard on a particular tense spot, you may be experiencing some discomfort.

Pain after a massage isn’t a bad thing. Headaches, soreness and sluggishness are all normal after-effects of a good massage. They can be signs that muscle tenseness has been released and toxins are making their way out of your system.

But it’s important to know how to relieve pain after a massage so that you can get back to basking in your post-massage glow.

You can use an ice pack or soothe sore muscles in the bath. If it’s a headache that’s plaguing you then drink plenty of water and try rolling a bit of peppermint oil on your temples.

Some residual soreness, mild headache, increased urination and thirstiness are all normal. But if you are worried then you should get in touch with your massage therapist.

You may have heard that getting a massage reduces stress. 😌
The first thing that comes to mind might be the relaxing atmosphere and feel-good feeling after your appointment— it sounds like a no-brainer.

But it’s more scientific than that. 👩‍🔬

Cortisol, sometimes known as the “stress hormone,” controls your stress response, blood glucose levels, inflammatory response and blood pressure.

A 60-minute massage can reduce your cortisol levels by 28%, decreasing stress and making you feel more relaxed. 💆‍♀️

When life feels hectic, and you feel like you’re swimming upstream, consider booking a massage. You’ll be glad you did!

IT Band Syndrome

Did you know the is the longest tendon in the body? It starts at the hip flexor and runs down to the outside of the shin bone.

Because it is a tendon, it can’t be stretched or massaged to relieve pain.

The most typical cause of pain in the IT band is caused when the hip muscles are overloaded too quickly. For instance, if you push yourself during a run or try a new activity that your body isn’t used to.

Your body’s response is tension in the hip muscles, resulting in a deep tightness in the IT band and a painful sensation outside the knee.

While you can’t relieve pain by massaging the IT band itself, massaging the hip muscles, quads and hamstrings around the IT band can help.

As of September 1st, 2022, I will be increasing my fees. All new fees include HST.

✨Starting September 1st, I have decided to add an extra treatment service of 75 minute massage. ✨

Why you should drink more water after a massage

We all know drinking water is an essential part of our daily routines. But it’s especially important to drink extra H2O after you book a massage with me. Here's why…

HYDRATE 💦
Body treatments can be dehydrating. This is caused by the release of toxins, stress and tension in your body. Drinking plenty of water before and after your treatment is recommended.

IMMUNE BOOST 😌
Water assists with purifying the kidneys, which helps give your immune system a boost. Working the lymphatic system during a massage releases toxins, so drinking more post-appointment will refresh your body quicker.

DECREASES MUSCLE SORENESS 💪
It’s normal to feel a little sore after a massage, especially if it’s your first time on the table in a few months and in tense areas. Drinking more water after your massage can help decrease soreness.
