Meet Gino!

He is available for adoption through the Greater Sudbury Animal Shelter.

Here's a little bit about him:

Gino is a 7-month-old mixed breed who has now spent an entire month in our shelter, and in that time he’s shown us just how brave and determined he really is.

When he first arrived, Gino was very scared of people and unsure of the world around him. While we don’t know what happened to make him feel that way at such a young age, we do know that he hasn’t let it stop him from trying.

Day by day, Gino is beginning to open up and make meaningful progress with our staff. He’s learning that hands can bring gentle pets, that people can offer yummy treats, and that play can actually be fun. He no longer walks around with his tail tucked, and instead is starting to show little glimpses of the happy, curious pup he’s meant to be.

We truly believe Gino just needs the right person — someone with patience, compassion, and a calm home — to help him continue building his confidence. With time and love, this sweet boy is sure to grow into a wonderful companion. 💞

You may have noticed a few new faces around the hospital in the last few months so we thought we would formally introduce you to our new crew members!

Meet Nicole! She has a double role within the hospital as a Receptionist and Animal Care Attendant! 🌞

Nicole is true Sudburian being born and raised in our wonderful city! She attended Cambrian College for Social Work and Policing but ultimately decided that these career paths were not for her. She then decided to pursue a career as a Lab Tech Assistant where she got to experience part of the medical field. This created a passion for medical care which then led her to Veterinary Medicine!

She currently owns a Shepherd mix named Ivy. Her family has various nicknames for her like Tron, Bugs Bugaloo and many more. Her dream pet would be to own a Tibetan Mastiff or a St. Bernard one day.

Her favorite holiday is Christmas (you may have noticed her festive scrubs that she started wearing in November 😆). She was also responsible for the amazing decorations that were placed around the hospital. She is loving working with our team and her easy going personality has fit in so well with us!

When not at work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and enjoying a nice cup of coffee.

Please help us in officially welcoming Nicole to the Cambrian family! ❤️🤍🖤

"This sweet girl has been in our care for 41 days with little to no interest, and it’s hard to believe—because she’s truly something special. Yolandi is a Shiba Inu with the spunkiest one of a kind personality; while we know she isn’t the dog for just anyone, we’re hopeful her person will come along soon. She makes us laugh every single day and is as adorable as they come. ✨"

Shoutout to Dr. Marie + Sarah (RVT) from Cambrian, and Dr. Wanda + Siobhan (RVT) from Baxter — for hands-on learning, perfecting techniques, asking questions, & sharing lots of laughs under expert guidance!

These mentorship moments make our whole network stronger and keep every pet smiling brighter with top-tier dental care.
