February is Heart Month, a time to bring attention to the importance of cardiovascular health, and what we can to reduce our risk of cardiovascular disease. ❤️
The continuous movement involved in dance and the vigorous hand movements required for drumming increase heart rate and promote better blood circulation and improve cardiovascular health. 💪
Participating in workshops like the Family Fun Drum can be a fun and beneficial experience to improve your heart and mental health. 🧠
The Family Fun Drum has taken place in local Libraries, Support Groups, and Festivals 🥁
Contact Kylie at Kadence Music Therapy to book a Family Fun Drum workshop today! 😌

Kylie recently completed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training through Roles & Associates’ CBT Training Centre of the North!
I’m excited to share that I’ve completed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training through Roles & Associates’ CBT Training Centre of the North!
CBT offers practical, evidence-based strategies to help people better understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours — and build tools for managing stress, anxiety, low mood, and life transitions.
For my clients, this adds:
✨ Clear, structured coping strategies
✨ Tools for reframing negative thought patterns
✨ Support for building confidence and resilience
✨ A thoughtful integration with music therapy when appropriate
Continuing education is so important to me, and I’m grateful to keep expanding how I can support you. If you’re curious about how CBT-informed sessions might support you, feel free to reach out. 💛

Did you know that music has a very real impact on our memory?
“Music and memory share an intimate bond. Often, a song can trigger a cascade of vivid memories, while melodies and lyrics, even from years past, can be effortlessly recalled. Such connections correlate with activations in areas like the hippocampus, pivotal in memory storage and retrieval.”

2016 → 2026
A little late to the trend—but right on time with gratitude 💛
2016 was a big year for Kadence Music Therapy. It was the first full year KMT was in the community, and the community embrace was certainly felt. 🥰
To those who have been supporting me and Kadence Music Therapy since 2016 (and those who joined along the way): thank you for believing, encouraging, and growing with me. 🎶✨
