Happy Family Day 💙🤍
Here are some sensory- friendly activities to do in the Niagara Region!
- AuSome Aquarium (Aquarium of Niagara): Dedicated, after-hours, sensory-friendly events featuring special presentations, crafts, and reduced capacity.
-Safari Niagara (Stevensville): A large, 150-acre nature park with plenty of space to run, featuring a splash pad and a train ride.
- Autism Ontario Events (South Region): Check for private, inclusive swim times at the MacBain Centre Pool and community events like “Celebrate the Spectrum”.
- Butterfly Conservatory: A quiet, warm, and visually calming environment.
- Clifton Hill / Weekdays: Visiting during the week is recommended for fewer crowds.
- Access 2 Card: Accepted at many venues (e.g., Bird Kingdom, Niagara Parks attractions) for free support person admission.
Tips for a Successful Trip:
-Bring noise-canceling headphones for louder, high-traffic attractions like Clifton Hill or the Rainforest Cafe.
- Utilize the Access 2 card at many attractions for free caregiver entry.
- Focus on outdoor, less crowded spots if sensory overload is a concern.
