Make room for Palmarosa in your essential oil collection (right next to Rose and Helichrysum)!
Palmarosa Essential Oil is popular for its skin rejuvenating properties. Although the oil is made from the leaves and stems of palmarosa grass, it has a rose-like aroma. From a chemistry perspective, Palmarosa essential oil is very high in geraniol...just like Rose essential oil! It is no surprise that these oils have a similar aromas and therapeutic benefits.
This uplifting oil has powerful antioxidant properties as well as promoting cellular growth and regeneration. It moisturizes and tones the skin. It is especially useful with animals that are itchy or need liver, cardiovascular, or nervous system support. It is very effective at repelling ticks and mites while still being gentle on the skin.
Emotionally, Palmarosa can help with stress management, calming the mind, and is particularly helpful for jealous or possessive animals. It is also very supportive during seasons of transition.
I love adding Palmarosa to my diffuser recipes and in my skin healing salves and repellant sprays. (Try adding just 2 drops to the Healing Salve Recipe and Skin Rejuvenating Spray.)
