MEET DEAN

Guelph native Dean Brombal grew up in a family where paying final respects at the funeral home was common practice even for the children. In Dean's case, this family practice sparked an early interest in funeral service that lead to a high school co-op placement with a local funeral home and eventually to Humber College. Dean became a licensed funeral director in 1996.

After more than 25 years spent serving families in communities across southern Ontario, Dean came home to Guelph early in 2023 to become the President and Managing Director of Gilchrist Chapel, fulfilling a long-held ambition to own his own business. In July 2023 he underlined his commitment to the business and the community by putting his name on the firm.

An avid sports fan and dedicated community volunteer, Dean's contributions were recognized when he was named a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International and Rotarian of the Year by the Rotary Club of Cambridge North.

Dean is a graduate of Bishop Macdonell High School in Guelph and Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.
