⚡️OLD INJURES HOLDING YOU BACK? 🔥

➕ One of the most important questions for first responders when I first see them is “What injuries did you sustain previous to this?”

➕ Old, untreated injuries wreak havoc on the efficiency our body craves to be able to move in an independent, pain-free state. These pesky injuries that are thought to have been left in the past create compensations within the movement system. Eventually, all compensations will EXPIRE.

➕ Above you’ll see an advanced technique utilized to treat the psoas major muscle in addition to the lumbar plexus, helping to alleviate years of “SI joint pain” for a young firefighter.

➕ Injuries like this do not happen because of one bad bend or lift, they happen when a system that has been compensating for a long period fatigues!

➕ Injury mechanisms start well before we really sense there might be something wrong with our bodies.

➕ The accumulation of silent and symptomatic triggers of dysfunction are what people usually look back on and shake their head at well after they have injured themselves.

➕ Poor sleep, bad diet, unrelenting tension, terrible seasonal allergies, increasing fatigue are all examples that the system is compensating. Unfortunately, all compensations do expire and that’s where injury occurs.

Getting better everyday doesn’t mean running faster every day. It means you find a way to recover a little better, it means you take some time to relax, sometimes it even means you show up to an empty gym on a holiday Monday.
