The Shelldale team alongside our 3 partner agencies came together to share cookies, connection, and big .

To our amazing partners Guelph Community Health Centre, Kindle Communities, and CMHA Waterloo Wellington your partnership lets us show up stronger for clients, with quicker access, compassionate care, and a dedicated circle of support- thank you for the work you do.

Sharing those little treats made a big difference, bringing comfort, gratitude, and genuine smiles to the faces of staff and clients at 10 Shelldale. It’s amazing what a warm cookie and a caring community can do.

Last month, our team gathered at the Wellington County Museum for a day of connection, learning, and collaboration. We explored new ideas, strengthened relationships, and left feeling energized about the work ahead.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day such a success! We’re excited to bring these learnings forward as we continue building a stronger, healthier and more inclusive community together.

Earlier this week we were honoured to be mentioned in the House of Commons with meaningful recognition of 10 Shelldale and the impact of Permanent Supportive Housing. 🏡

This recognition underscores that sustained advocacy saves lives. The right level of intervention, at the right time brings stability, dignity, and hope. 🧡

In 10 Shelldale’s first year of service:
• No one passed from drug poisoning.
• No one was evicted.
• No one left the program.
• Police and hospital emergency contacts dropped drastically.

These outcomes show that wrap‑around, person‑centered care is a proven solution to the housing and drug poisoning crisis.

Thank you to our partners Kindle Communities and the Guelph Community Health Centre for working hand‑in‑hand with us to provide comprehensive supports.

Our CEO, Melissa, attended the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness 2025 National Conference this week in Montreal.

It was great to learn alongside a strong contingent of partners from across the health and housing sectors in Guelph and Wellington, who all came together to show our collective commitment to change.

Addressing the increasing challenges faced by unhoused community members is a shared responsibility that requires collective action. Using innovative strategies, policy changes, and advocacy, we can solve the problems we are facing and ensure everyone has access to the care and support they need.

Health isn't just about medicine. Our social prescribing program has a big impact on clients' mental and overall health. Enjoy!

For World Mental Health Day, observed tomorrow October 10th, we visited Guelph Community Health Centre. We spoke with the CEO, Melissa Kiatkowski as well as two peer leader volunteers and the entire social prescribing team to discuss how the CHC's various social prescribing programs impact the mental health of clients, peer leaders and staff.
