U of G Alert is the University's critical incident notification system. U of G uses this tool to send important information whenever a critical incident happens on campus or if the University is closed due to bad weather.

On Wednesday, you will receive a test message in your uoguelph email inbox. You will also receive the test by SMS text and by phone if you have added those contact details to your account.

During the test, U of G Alert will send:

- Emails from "U of G Alert"
- Text messages from 723389
- Phone calls from 519-824-4120
- Push notifications from the SafeGryphon app, when push notifications are enabled

The more ways you can be reached during a critical incident or University closure, the better.

Treat every alarm like a real emergency. When you hear the fire alarm, get out of the building immediately. Fire moves fast and can quickly fill hallways with smoke and make them hard or impossible to navigate.

Never take an elevator during a fire alarm.

Your safest exit may not be the entrance you took.

Reach out to the Fire Prevention Division at request-fire@uoguelph.ca with any questions.
