Therapy with Taylor Geim

Therapy with Taylor Geim I offer in-person and online therapy for teens and adults with flexible weekday hours. Compassionate support to meet you where you are, every step of the way.

Seeking support can be challenging; though, a courageous step on your journey to healing. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative space, where we can work together to enhance well-being. As a Registered Psychotherapist, I am here to support you. My goal is to work with you to achieve goals, resolve challenges, and live healthier lives. I take a client-centred and trauma-informed approach in session. To support my practice, I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. In our work together, we would collaboratively create a treatment plan that suits you and your therapeutic journey. With experience working in addictions, post-secondary student wellness, private practice, and social service settings, I am excited to offer virtual and in-person counselling for the adolescent (13-17) and adult (18+) population. If you are interested in working together, please email me to set up a 15-minute consultation, free of charge.

March invites growth. Just like the seasons change, so can we.

As the light lingers a little longer and the air begins to shift, this month offers a quiet reminder: change doesn’t have to be dramatic to be meaningful.

Growth can be gentle, intentional, and steady.

Take a moment to reflect:

→ What’s one emotional habit you’d like to leave behind this month?
→ What’s one mindset you want to nurture?

Maybe it’s moving beyond self-criticism, people-pleasing, or avoidance. And inviting self-compassion, boundaries, or curiosity.

REMEMBER, growth isn’t about turning into someone else. It’s about uncovering and embracing your most authentic self.

✨How can therapy support? ✨

Therapy can be a place to reset, reflect, and gently grow. A space to untangle patterns, process emotions, and practice new ways of being with support, compassion, and guidance along the way.

If March feels like a turning point, even a small one, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

✨ Three Years ✨

Today marks 3 years since I opened my psychotherapy practice, and I’m feeling incredibly grateful. Grateful for the clients who’ve trusted me with their stories, the growth I’ve witnessed (clients and my own), and the steady reminder of the meaningful change that happens in a therapeutic space.

What started as a hopeful leap has grown into work that continues to challenge and inspire me every day. I’m so proud of what this practice has become, and I’m even more excited about what’s ahead.

There are some exciting changes and expansions coming soon! More on that very shortly 👀

Thank you for being part of this journey, whether you’ve been here from the beginning or just found your way here recently.

Here’s to growth, healing, and another year in practice ✨

As a therapist, I often see how New Year’s resolutions can turn into pressure rather than support. It is important to remember that healing and growth don’t need deadlines, rather patience, curiosity, and a willingness to meet yourself where you are.

For this reason, I don’t favour New Year’s resolutions because life isn’t linear, and shame isn’t a motivator.

Instead, I invite people to choose one word.

→ A word you can return to on hard days.
→ A word that guides decisions without demanding perfection.
→ A word that leaves room for being human.

Resolutions often sound like: “I must change.”

A word sounds like: “This is how I want to show up.”

Examples:
✨ Growth
✨ Consistency
✨ Curiosity
✨ Balance

Your word doesn’t need to be productive. It doesn’t need to impress anyone. It just needs to feel true.

This year, my word is INTENTIONAL. To be intentional about how I care for myself, how I spend my energy, and what I say yes to. To be intentional about presence over productivity, and compassion over perfection.

What’s your word this year?

If today feels heavy, this reminder is for you 👇🏻

November can bring a shift with colder days, earlier nights, and quieter moments that sometimes make our thoughts feel louder.

If you’ve been feeling tired, overwhelmed, or like you’re moving slower than you “should,” please know this:

→ Showing up is enough.
→ Resting is allowed.
→ Needing support is human.

You are not falling behind. You’re simply being and that is more than enough.

DAILY REMINDER: Sometimes doing “nothing” is the most productive thing for your nervous system.

We live in a world that celebrates hustle and constant output.

We often forget that our nervous system isn’t built for non-stop activity.

I am here to remind you that:
→ Rest isn’t lazy.
→ Pausing isn’t unproductive.
→ Stillness is medicine.

Productivity isn’t just the matter of checking boxes. It’s also about regulating your nervous system so you can show up grounded, present, and well.

I giggled when I saw this mug because of how relatable it is!

Sometimes our minds just keep spinning - replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions, wondering if we could’ve done something differently.

If that sounds relatable, you’re not alone.

Overthinking often comes from caring deeply.

From wanting to understand, to do right, and to feel safe in a world that doesn’t always give us clear answers.

Today I invite you not to quiet your thoughts, but to notice them.

✨Take a sip from your mug,
✨Breathe, and
✨Remind yourself: you’re human.

Little by little, we can learn to let our thoughts settle, like steam rising from a warm cup. ☕️

A Therapist’s Thanksgiving Journal Prompts 🦃🍂

During this season of gratitude, it’s important to carve out time for our own reflection and renewal.

This Thanksgiving, I invite you to pause, breathe, and turn inward.

These journal prompts are designed to:
✨Center your thoughts
✨Foster gratitude without bypassing hard feelings
✨Help you reconnect with why you do this work

Whether you’re feeling full of thanks, emotionally drained, or somewhere in between - there’s room for all of it here.

Today, I encourage you to take 10–15 minutes with these prompts, and let them meet you where you are.

Before we pour into others, we must take a moment to refill our own cup.

Be gentle with yourself today. Happy Thanksgiving 🫶🏻

DAILY REMINDER: Let go of should statements. Instead, try asking: What do I need today?

Should statements carry pressure; whereas, focusing on your needs invites awareness.

One leads to burnout.

The other leads to balance.

You don’t have to do it all. REMEMBER, it’s about checking in with yourself.

So, what do you need today?

DAILY REMINDER: Notice what feels safe.

Whether it is a quiet moment, a deep breath, a familiar voice, the warmth of a blanket, or the rhythm of your steps.

Let yourself return to those things when the world feels too loud.

Safety isn’t always a place. Safety can be a feeling you carry with you.

You’re allowed to come back to it, again and again. This is how we ground ourselves.
