CEO of Nutra-Science Inc. Canada, Dr. Michael Lindinger, recently participated in a Guelph Chamber of Commerce roundtable alongside the Honourable Nolan Quinn, Minister of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence & Security, the Honourable Trevor Jones, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness, and the Honourable Mike Harris, Minister of Natural Resources, as well as Dr. Rene Van Acker, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Guelph, leaders from other post-secondary institutions, and representatives from the agri-business sector. The discussion focused on how we can collectively develop and mobilize the highly skilled graduates required to support the future of agriculture and agri-food in Ontario.
These conversations are essential for aligning priorities across government, academia, and industry. A strong agri-food sector is built on research excellence, the training of highly qualified personnel, and the effective translation of advanced knowledge into real-world innovation. Graduate students and post-doctoral fellows play a central role in this ecosystem by bringing cutting-edge methodologies, evidence-based problem solving, and valuable research capacity into companies today, not only as the future workforce, but as active drivers of growth and competitiveness.
With a career grounded in applied physiology and industry-focused science, Dr. Lindinger’s participation reinforced the importance of mentorship, experiential learning, and collaborative research partnerships. Nutra-Science Inc. Canada is proud to be part of a community that is advancing scientific discovery while helping to develop the next generation of talent needed to support a resilient, innovative, and productive agricultural landscape.
