It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dean Johnson. A cherished member of our community and a steady rock for so many, Dean's presence was woven into the fabric of everyday life. He was reliable, kind, and always ready with a helping hand.

Dean dedicated nearly 30 years of service to Temiskaming Hospital, where his hard work, compassion, and unwavering commitment touched countless lives. His colleagues knew him as someone they could always depend on, and his community knew him as a man of integrity and heart.

Dean was fortunate to share true love with his wife, Kim, his partner in every sense of the word. He is survived by his children Brandon (Tiffany) Johnson and Chantal (Kyle) Paquin, and by his treasured grandchildren Dezmond, Devon, C**t, and Remi, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brother Terry, sister Lori Strauss, sister-in-law Wanda Jackson (late Harry) and his former wife Sandra Johnson. Dean was a cherished uncle to Kevin, Tracey, Ryan, and Garet. His loyal fur baby Cody remained faithfully by his side. Dean was predeceased by his brother Dale and parents George and Betty Johnson.

A true outdoorsman, Dean found peace and happiness in the places he loved most—out on the water with a fishing rod in hand, deep in the bush during hunting season, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of nature. His photos of the sunrise's, sunsets and the flora and fauna of the Montreal River were enjoyed by many.

The loss of Dean leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will continue to guide and strengthen all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the love he gave, the friendships he built, and the countless lives he touched.

May it always be fishing and hunting season for you Dean.

Dean's final care has been entrusted to the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place in the summer of 2026, with full details to be shared on this site as they become available. Condolences and tributes may be shared at www.buffamleveille.com

In the words of Melissa, granddaughter of Harold, Grampa on the farm was a man of many words; a man of faith; a man of music; a man who was always up for a road trip; and a man who could build and create anything.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Wesley Edwards who died suddenly on Friday February 6th, just 2 days shy of his 91st birthday at the Northdale Manor.

Harold was born in Haileybury, Ontario and was adopted 3 months later by his parents Wes and Ina Edwards. He started life out on a small farm in Dymond Township, and then moved to a farm in Hudson Township when he was 7 where he remained until November 2024 when he moved into the Northdale Manor.

Harold married the love of his life, Eleanor Borgford, on November 23, 1957 and made their home on the family farm.

Harold was a hard worker and was willing to try anything, but early on his favourite job was working at Hill-Clark-Francis Ltd. It was there that he was able to apprentice and get his certification in woodworking. He decided to start his own company Harold Edwards Carpentry which he ran for 20 years. In 1980 he opened up a corrugated carton business, Mid-North Containers with the help of his brother Harvey. It is still in business today under management of his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Loretta.

Harold got the travel bug quite early on in his life. By the time he was 20, he had purchased both a motorcycle and a half ton truck to facilitate this passion. Some of his exploits, with Eleanor by his side, included building a home in Florida and travelling to Australia & New Zealand, Alaska, Greece, Iceland and numerous trips across Canada & the US.

Harold loved the Lord and this led him to plant a 4C's church in New Liskeard, take a missionary trip to Guatemala, fill Christmas Shoeboxes through Samaritan's Purse, volunteer with the Gideon's organization and sponsor children through World Vision.

Harold enjoyed his music. From jam sessions in his home to playing guitar and singing in church to his final gig playing at the Northdale Manor for Birthdays of the Month Friday.

Harold was predeceased by his parents, his wife Eleanor and his 2 foster brothers Harvey and Lloyd Grant. He is survived by his son Steven (Loretta), daughters Brenda Wilson (Mark), Sandy Edwards, Angie Stevens (Bryan) and son Ted (Nadya); 10 grandchildren Brad (Sarah) Chantal, Alana, Anthony (Tania), Audisho, Samirra, Melissa (Simon), Samantha (David), Taylor and Jared; 15 great-grandchildren Drenady (Kaelyn), Nicholas, Jeremy, Marcus, Daniel, Myriam, Brayden, Nolan, Journey, Bella, Violet, Jack, Ada, Islay and Nora.

We would like to thank the entire staff of the Northdale Manor for making Harold's stay there as comfortable and fun as it was.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Harold's life will be held in the spring, on Saturday, June 6th at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in New Liskeard at 11:00am. A reception will follow at the Hudson Twp Hall, 278011 Milberta Rd, New Liskeard.

Harold's final care has been entrusted to the Buffam Leveille funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to Into All The World or Shareword Global (The Gideons) in Harold's memory would be appreciated. Condolences and tributes may be shared at www.buffamleveille.com

She also had a passion for knitting, sewing, reading, bowling, and listening to music. Imogene and Walter both loved to travel and toured many areas across Canada and the United States, always looking forward to their winter visits to Florida after their retirement.
