🌿 I’m Back (in a Little Way!) 🌿
I’m happy to share that I’ll be back in the clinic for limited days this month — November 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22 — with reduced hours as I ease back in.

We’re also heading toward the end of the year, which means many extended health benefits reset on January 1st. If you’ve been meaning to book a massage, now’s the perfect time to use up your 2025 coverage before it’s gone.

🫀 Stretch & Release Your Pectorals Major!

Did you know tight chest muscles (pectoralis major) can affect your posture, shoulder mobility, and even your breathing? Sitting at a desk or hunching over your phone can cause your chest to feel tight and your shoulders to round forward.

💪 Stretch it out:
Doorway stretch: Place your forearms on either side of a doorway, step one foot forward, and gently push your chest through. Hold for 20–30 seconds.

Wall corner stretch: Stand facing a corner, place your forearms on the walls, and lean in slowly to stretch your chest.

Arm hug stretch: Wrap your arms around yourself like giving a big hug and gently lift elbows to feel the stretch across your chest.

💆 How massage can help:
Massage helps release tension in the pectorals, improve shoulder mobility, and counteract the tightness caused by sitting or poor posture. Regular massage can also reduce discomfort in the neck and upper back caused by tight chest muscles.

Today, we pause to reflect, to listen, and to honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities.

At Mindful Massage, we acknowledge that we live and work on Mi’kma’ki, the traditional and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. Truth and reconciliation call us to more than remembrance—they call us to learn, to act with compassion, and to walk together in respect and healing.

We encourage everyone to take time today to reflect on the history and legacy of residential schools, to listen to Indigenous voices, and to consider how we can each be part of reconciliation in our daily lives.

✨ Healing Update ✨

I’m slowly finding my way through recovery, and it’s been such a reminder of the very things I tell my clients every day: stretch, breathe, and be patient with your body. 💜

Healing isn’t linear—and it definitely isn’t about rushing. We all move at our own pace. For me, it’s been challenging to not feel “at home” in my body the way I used to. I’ve always taken pride in feeling strong and capable, but now I’m learning to put my ego aside and truly trust the process.

This journey is teaching me to appreciate the small wins and remember that our bodies are nothing short of miraculous. 🌿

If you’re healing from anything—physical or emotional—know that it’s okay to go slow. It’s okay to rest. And it’s okay to celebrate each step along the way.

📣 Important Client Update + Opportunity for a Fellow Therapist

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share that I will be undergoing surgery on August 12 and will be taking some time off to focus on healing. I expect to be away for at least 4 weeks, possibly up to 8, depending on my recovery.

In the meantime, I’m looking to connect with a qualified massage therapist who is interested in a subcontractor position to support my amazing clients while I’m away. If you know someone who is kind, skilled, and reliable—and who might be looking for part-time work—this could be a great opportunity.

There is also the potential for long-term part-time hours, especially on Sundays and Mondays, which I currently don’t work.

If you’re a therapist or know someone who might be the right fit, please send them my way!
