The SUGAR Health website has a section with recommended free online trainings for service providers - and we wanted to highlight some that we love! We know in an ever changing landscape of SGRH care that taking a training can be a fantastic way to make sure you are providing people the care they deserve.

We encourage the service providers we partner with, as well as anyone offering SGRH services in the province to check out our training section (linked in bio) to grow your knowledge today.

This presentation is an overview of skills, clinical scripts, s*xual health aids, and resources for clinicians (or anyone interested!) looking to bolster their ability to discuss s*x, relationships, and intimacy with patients throughout their cancer journey. As I am not a clinician (and certainly not an oncologist), this presentation is not meant to outline specific oncological interventions or procedures. Rather, it is meant to aid clinicians in their confidence to discuss s*x and intimacy in times of competing health priorities. Clinicians working with older patients and/or those with chronic health concerns may also benefit from the content.

We’d like to take a moment to thank Chrissy and Kelsey for their incredible contributions to the SUGAR Health project. Both have been part of the team since the beginning and have played an important role in shaping the work we’ve done together to make SGR Health more equitable and accessible in Nova Scotia.

As their part-time contracts wrap up, Chrissy and Kelsey are focusing on their fulltime social work. We’re so grateful for their dedication, insight, and energy throughout the project, and we wish them all the best!

SUGAR Health's warmline hours have changed! You can still reach us during our regular hours (Tues 11am-2pm, Wednesday 5:30pm-830pm) but now, if you contact us outside of those times by text, you can expect a response within 24-48 hours. If you need to speak with someone over the phone, you can book a call by emailing or texting us. We're here to support you. Text us at 1(888)299-2066.

Last year, we successfully secured enough funding to keep our site and team running until March. Now, we’re exploring additional funding opportunities to ensure we can continue our work. But to keep things going, we could use your help.

Every donation today will directly support the operation of our site, allowing us to provide valuable s*xual, gender, and reproductive health resources to our Nova Scotian community. Your contribution will help us stay on track and move forward.
