Hey Everyone,

On July 16th our friend and colleague Rob Klue, was struck by a vehicle on his way to our clinic where he works as a massage therapist.

He sustained serious injuries and is currently in the ICU.

We are all devastated by this and to help Rob and his family we have started a fundraiser to cover expenses they might need to help him with his recovery.

Rob has many people who care about him and we have seen a huge outpouring of support.

Courtney Nickerson, clinic owner & RMT, will be taking part in The Rope for Hope and rappelling down the Westin Halifax tomorrow/Friday June 22nd, at 10:40am, in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

What is fascial tissue? 🤔⠀⠀

A protective connective tissue that runs continuously through the body. It runs directly beneath our skin, and surrounds our muscles and organs. Healthy fascial tissue is relaxed and soft yet strong and very flexible. ⠀⠀
⠀
When we experience trauma like a fall, whiplash, or surgery (to name a few), our fascial tissue tightens and puts pressure on its surrounding structures - causing aches, pains, limited range of motion and can contribute to postural misalignment. ⠀⠀

Myofasical release is a hands on therapy, provided usually by a massage therapist, a chiropractor, osteopath, or physiotherapist. It aims to break up adhesions and relax the tissue - easing pressure and restoring range of motion!
