We are running the Do You Mind Workshops again! 💜💛🩷

We heard the feedback and understood that how we were running the program was not super accessible and a big time commitment during a time when so many of us are stretched thin. So we want to try again, with some changes.

Part 1 is now entirely virtual, and has been shortened to a single 3-hour session.

🎨In Part 2 both cohorts of participants will come together to create a zine celebrating 2S/LGBTQIA+ dating and relationships, as well as plan and coordinate a public event to launch their zine.

Come build community, and lead the change by making dating safer for young people in your community!

Gift cards & honoraria to participants! 💵💰

Today, for International Volunteer Day, we want to share a special shout-out to and celebrate our clinic volunteers! At HSHC, we use our volunteers for aiding the admin team, running the reception desk, answering phone calls, and booking appointments. They often complete special projects with us, help with fundraising, and more! Our volunteers are crucial to the function of HSHC, where we are often at absolute capacity in terms of our staffing. Thank you to our incredible volunteer team!

We accept new volunteers in batches! If you are interested in volunteering at Halifax Sexual Health Centre, please fill out an application on our website (hshc.ca/volunteer or link in bio) and we’ll be in contact during our next round of onboarding.

Heads up HSHC community! ✨ The Board of Directors of HSHC will be randomly surveying people who have visited us more than once since 2023 and have consented to Mikata to ask for their perspective on who should be represented on HSHC’s board.

This means you might receive a text from us with a survey link next week. Know this isn’t spam or phishing, and your answers will be anonymous. Responding is optional.

If you have questions, email us @ hshcbod@gmail.com

While Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the biggest shopping days of the year, GivingTuesday on December 2nd marks something greater. It’s the global movement to do better for each other through acts of generosity. We ask that you consider Halifax Sexual Health Centre during this period of giving, so we can provide even more sexual, reproductive, and gender-affirming care services in the future.

Every four hours, someone in Canada is diagnosed with HIV. But almost half of Canadians don’t know that HIV rates have increased in the last five years.

Health inequities fuel the epidemic and create barriers for people to access HIV testing and medication. Health is a human right. That means access to HIV testing, prevention and treatment options at zero cost.

This World AIDS Day, we've partnered with to raise awareness about Canada’s growing HIV epidemic. Get the facts at CANFAR.com.
