Today, on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, we honour the 14 women whose lives were tragically taken:

The December 6th team recognizes that experiences of violence occur across a broad spectrum. We believe survivors and we are here to help.

The YWCA December 6th Fund supports women, gender diverse, trans, and Two-Spirit individuals that are seeking supports for attaining safety or stability following an experience of violence. The December 6 team can support with safety planning, resource navigation, and access to mobile devices. The program also offers financial resources in the form of non-interest bearing microloans to be paid towards urgent housing-related expenses, including rent, deposits, and emergency relocation costs.

The Marguerite Centre is looking for Board members!



The Centre is a volunteer-run organization providing an inclusive, safe, and tranquil setting for women recovering from addiction, regardless of economic status. As well as fostering a sense of community support, together with their volunteers, they give the residents a sense of value, purpose and resiliency.



The Board advises, governs, oversees policy and direction, and assists with the leadership and general promotion of The Marguerite Centre to support the organization's mission and needs.



We are currently working through accreditation through Imagine Canada so lots of opportunity to learn and grow as we proceed through the process of developing policy, processes, and procedures to meet the standards.

Calling all IPSY lovers! Looking for a place to put those cosmetic bags to good use? The Marguerite Centre would love to have them. We like to be able to provide our residents with a pencil case for program, and the cosmetic bags are a cute and easily accessible option to help us provide this!
