At Parkstone Enhanced Care, RNs Sarah Doucette and Ashlee Watts recently completed Dalhousie University’s Registered Nurse Prescribing Certificate, an advanced program that enables nurses to prescribe certain medications.

This expanded skill set helps residents receive more timely treatment, reduces delays in care, and strengthens our commitment to improving long term care for the communities we serve.

Programs like this are part of how we continue reinvesting in our teams and advancing care for residents.

Congratulations to the Behaviour Support Teams from Harbourstone, Cedarstone, and Parkstone, recipients of the Champion for Dignity Award at the Nursing Homes of Nova Scotia 2025 Awards of Excellence. Through their partnership with Healthcare Excellence Canada, these teams are leading person‑centred approaches to dementia care, reducing inappropriate antipsychotic use and strengthening compassionate, dignified care for residents across Nova Scotia. We’re incredibly proud of their leadership and the meaningful impact they make every day.

March is Nutrition Month! Residents and team members at Losier Hall celebrated with delicious yogurt parfaits, a healthy way to highlight the importance of good nutrition while enjoying time together. The fun didn’t stop there. Residents also headed out for a bowling outing, sharing laughs and friendly competition.

At Bridgeview Hall, residents got in on the excitement with a series of Minute to Win It games that put precision, coordination, and determination to the test.

Great experiences, great company, and plenty of smiles all around.
