✨ Talking isn’t always the best way to heal.

Sometimes words feel too big, too messy, or just not enough.
Art therapy offers another way in, one that feels slower, safer, and more natural.

When you create, your nervous system settles.
Emotions come out without needing to be explained.
And insight often shows up after the pressure is gone.

You don’t need to be artistic.
You don’t need the right words.
You just need permission to express.

If this resonates, save this for later or share it with someone who might need another way to process. 🎨

I can sit still.

So what’s the secret to focus?
For me, it started to change when I stopped blaming myself for how my brain works.

When we build systems that work with our brains, not against them, everything changes.
I’ve spent years learning to move with mine instead of fighting it.

What’s one thing that helps you focus when nothing else does? 👇

Let’s build a list that we can actually relate to.

Sometimes you just need to build yourself a little she-shed and invite your clients to come make art in it.

But in all seriousness, thank you for the most incredible year. Thank you for trusting the process, but even more importantly, for trusting me.

Here’s to more days in the studio, more creativity, more breakthroughs, break-downs and every feeling in-between. 🫶🏼🎨

Not sure how a therapist can help? Let me explain.

One of the most common questions I get is:
“Can you diagnose me?”

The short answer is no.
The longer answer is: I still play an important role.

While I don’t provide formal diagnoses, I work with you consistently over time. I notice patterns, strengths, challenges, and how things show up in your day to day life, not just in a single assessment session.

If diagnosis or medication is part of your journey, your primary care provider can refer you to a psychologist for assessment and a psychiatrist for medication support. When that happens, I am often part of the process by sharing observations and insights with your care team.

My role as a therapist is to:
• Help you make sense of what you are experiencing
• Support you through referrals and next steps
• Build tools for regulation, confidence, and self understanding
• Be steady, ongoing support alongside assessments or treatment

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy.
I am here to support you wherever you are starting from.

✨What helps my ADHD brain focus✨

🍬Chewing something like gum, candy, or chips gives me sensory input that helps my brain stay on task. Research shows oral stimulation activates the prefrontal cortex, which supports focus and impulse control. It’s like giving your brain a gentle cue to wake up and regulate.

🎶Background noise such as music or a familiar show helps because silence can actually be overstimulating for an ADHD brain. Steady, predictable sound provides an anchor for attention and reduces the mental search for input.

🛑Breaks are essential. ADHD brains use energy differently, and attention works more like a sprint than a marathon. Taking regular pauses prevents burnout and helps maintain focus over time.

I didn’t recognize these coping tools until adulthood. If you’re a parent trying to help your neurodivergent child, know that there’s no single right way to learn. When education embraces different learning styles, kids become more confident and self-aware learners.

Never a task completed at one time, but progress is progress. 😅 (And yes, I did sweep, don’t come for me 😂)

The studio reset that took three playlists and a questionable amount of pauses.

What’s your go-to cleaning playlist or reset ritual? 🎶
