J. Albert Walker Funeral Home - 2005 Ltd Funeral Home located in Halifax Nova Scotia serving the Spryfield community and the greater Halifax R Mr. The new building was to be both business and home.

With a history of service to the community spanning five decades, the J. Albert Walker Funeral Home on Herring Cove Road has become a Spryfield landmark much as the firm's founder became a storied community leader and supporter. Walker established his business in 1958 and in 1962 laid the cornerstone of the building it occupies today. While he served his community from the ground floor funeral home his family grew up in the residence above. As is traditional in funeral service, the Spryfield firm would remain in the Walker family for years after the death of its founder until 2005 when the torch was passed to Erin Jennings the current Owner - Managing Director. A Saint John native, Ms. Jennings brought more than a decade of her own funeral service experience along with her abundant energy to the business. Intent on building on the deep community roots and foundation she inherited when she purchased the funeral home, Erin has become an ardent community supporter and familiar face in the area as she took up residence in the "owners suite" shortly after taking over. Eager to demonstrate her commitment to the business and the community it serves, Erin Jennings choose to reinvest in the funeral home early in her tenure. A program of renovations to enhance arrangement spaces and add reception facilities, along with an extensive upgrade of the Chapel has given a fresh face to an old friend. The families of Spryfield and the greater Halifax community can rest assured that their community funeral home will be here to serve them for years to come.
