Seasonal changes affect the body more than we realize.

Shorter days, less sunlight, and disrupted circadian rhythms can leave us feeling heavy, tired, or disconnected.

Here are simple practices, *rooted in science and supported by tradition* that can help ease Seasonal Affective Disorder symptoms:

Morning light exposure: Even 5–10 minutes of natural light helps reset your circadian rhythm and improve mood.

Gentle movement: Yoga, walking, or stretching increases serotonin and reduces stress hormones.

Warm, grounding meals: Traditional cultures lean into soups, teas, and warm foods for a reason—they support digestion and stabilize energy.

Nature connection: Touching plants or stepping outside for a short sensory break calms the nervous system.

Social connection: Human contact boosts oxytocin, which naturally supports emotional regulation.

You don’t need a full routine—just small moments of support throughout your day.
Your body responds to consistency, not perfection.

Energy rises, dips, pauses, and returns, not because something is wrong, but because the body is designed to work in cycles.

Your nervous system has rhythms.
Your mind has rhythms.
Even your motivation has seasons.

If you’re in a slower phase right now, honor it.
If you’re in a growing phase, nurture it.

Some tips I would give to someone who’s just starting their fitness journey(or actually trying to make it stick this time🫣)

1. Find a movement routine you enjoy
Don’t force yourself to run if you hate running. Find a type of movement you actually enjoy—whether that’s hiking, dancing, swimming, or Pilates. The best routine is the one you look forward to, not the one you dread.

2. Rest is important too
Rest is just as important as movement. Especially when starting something new, it’s easy to go all in—but your body needs time to recover. Take your sleep seriously, and schedule rest days like you do workouts.

3. Don’t forget nutrition
Fuel your body well. Movement and nutrition go hand in hand—your body needs energy to move, recover, and thrive. Start small: add more whole foods, drink water, and prioritize protein. Progress, not perfection.

4. Set goals
Set small, realistic goals. Whether it’s walking 3x a week or drinking more water, having a goal keeps you focused. Try using SMART goals (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-based) to set yourself up for success—without the stress.

5. Enjoy the process
Make it enjoyable. Fitness is a journey, not a finish line. Involve friends, celebrate small wins, and be kind to yourself along the way. When you enjoy the process, you’re more likely to stick with it.

🎨 Garden Creators�📅 Starts: Thursday, July 10�For the little makers! Kids will tap into their creativity, and design their own nature-inspired projects each week.

Nurture your child’s creativity, emotional well-being, and love for nature this summer through weekly therapeutic horticulture classes — thoughtfully designed to support wellness through hands-on connection with the earth.

🌱 Garden Explorers – Tuesdays at 10 AM
A playful, hands-on gardening experience where kids work together to grow a functional garden while exploring themes of wellness, mindfulness, and community.

🎨 Garden Creators – Thursdays at 10 AM
Where nature meets art! Each class blends creativity, emotional expression, and connection to the earth through inspiring projects children can take home each week.
