Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home - Robinson Chapel

Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home - Robinson Chapel Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, Robinson Chapel, is a combination of the Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home and the Robinson Funeral Home.

Both businesses were well established at the turn of the century, dating back to 1867. As a gesture of corporate and civic pride, the funeral home refurbished the fountain in Wellington Park, which stands in front of the funeral home, and held a dedication service to mark the completion of the renovations. A funeral procession is more than a line of cars — it’s a journey of love and remembrance. It's important to show respect by slowing down and yielding so the procession can stay together, pulling over or stopping safely to let them pass, and keeping quiet by lowering music and avoiding honking.

A brief pause speaks volumes; your kindness offers comfort to grieving families and honours a life respectfully.

When someone loses a loved one, grand gestures aren't always the most meaningful. It's often the simple, heartfelt ones that bring comfort, like sending a meal when words fail or helping them with errands, housework, or childcare.

A gentle reminder: cemeteries are meant to be peaceful places where families can reflect and remember their loved ones. 🕊️

When visiting, remember to keep voices low, silence your phone, and avoid any loud noises. A quiet, respectful atmosphere helps everyone feel comforted during their time of remembrance.

Our Story

Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home – Robinson Chapel is modern and spacious. Our chapel seats 110 guests and the reception room can accommodate up to 200. Both these spaces are ideal for traditional services and Celebrations of Life. Many families choose the lounge for more intimate gatherings. We offer a private visitation room as well.

We are located right in downtown Hamilton, at the corner of King Street East and Wellington. We are accessible both by car with 52 parking spots available, as well as by transit with the Main A-Line Bus stopping directly in front of the funeral home. The building is also wheelchair accessible and equipped with a state-of-the-art audiovisual system to ensure that every guest can participate in speeches and take comfort in photos.

We are part of the Arbor Memorial family, a Canadian company with a long-standing tradition of exceptional service. Our caring and compassionate staff are active in the community. Through the Arbor Memorial Foundation, we raise money for local charities every year. Recently, as a gesture of civic pride, the funeral home refurbished the fountain in Wellington Park.
