✨ Meet Julie — the heart behind Changing Tides Therapy. 💙

Julie isn’t just a therapist; she’s someone who deeply understands what it means to rebuild after loss, pain, and change. Through her own journey of grief, she learned something powerful that healing isn’t linear, but it’s always possible.

At Changing Tides Therapy, she helps people navigate life’s shifting seasons with compassion and honesty. Whether it’s grief, anxiety, relationship struggles, or starting over, Julie meets each client where they are never rushing the process, always holding space with empathy and warmth.

When I photographed Julie, we didn’t just stick to one spot. We chose four meaningful locations that each represented a piece of her journey.

We began at for clean, modern headshots and working portraits—an anchor for her professional presence.

From there, we stopped at Bread and Roses, a cozy bakery from her old neighborhood that brought a personal, nostalgic touch to her brand story.

Downtown Ottawa gave us the energy and environment of where she’s rooted her business.

We ended at Lac Meech because Julie learned from the loss of her big sister, that grief is like a wave—which her practice, Changing Tides Therapy, is named after. You can learn more about this on the second episode of Julie’s podcast, The Big Sister Podcast. Photographing her in the water wasn’t just creative; it was symbolic.

And the bakery? That wasn’t just a cozy backdrop. It’s where Julie would often stop before walking her grief out by the river. A quiet ritual of comfort and movement that helped her process so much of what she later built into her practice.

Every location told a part of her story—past and present, personal and professional—woven together through intention, memory, and meaning.

Your brand is more than a logo or a LinkedIn bio. Let’s capture the full picture.
📸 If your work is rooted in heart, healing, and purpose let’s capture that together.

✨ Why I Left My Job (And Never Looked Back) ✨

It wasn’t about leaving something I disliked it was about stepping toward something I couldn’t stop thinking about.

The timing wasn’t perfect, the plan wasn’t flawless, but the pull was stronger than the fear.

And looking back now… I’m so glad I listened. 💛

📸 Save this for when you need a reminder that your leap is worth it too.

✨ Meet Karla-Maria Creativo ✨
When I first met Karla, she had won a giveaway for a brand photoshoot experience — makeup, wardrobe, a 1-hour studio session. It was her first photoshoot ever, so we focused on the essentials: strong headshots, working shots, clean images with negative space, product integration, and photos that honored her story.
Fast-forward to this year: Karla wanted imagery that captured her mural work...but in nature. More her. More free. More alive.

All the inspo were of folks painting on a canvas or posing in front of a cloth, but none of someone painting on a cloth.

With only her vision to guide us, we worked together to make a plan of action to make painting on a cloth work (there’s lots of logisitics that go behind a photoshoot, ya know? :P)

Karla also painted a mural in my office, so I took the opportunity to take some environmental shots of her actually working. But the ones outside? Those were the ones that showed her soul—the sunlight, the open space, the grass, the sky. It was her in her element.

I will say this again and again - your branding imagery should be strategic, and I’m here to help you figure that out! But please, do not stop there!!

You are so much more than just what you write on paper one time. You evolve, you grow, you become more confident in how you show up. Let that light inspire your next true-to-you branding photoshoot.

Let your brand visuals reflect who you’re becoming ✨

I’ve learned a lot while building this business and most of it didn’t come from books or strategy calls.
It came from the quiet moments between projects, the pivots, the late nights that taught me what actually matters.

The biggest lessons?
It’s never about chasing speed or perfection.
It’s about building something that feels aligned, sustainable, and true to who you are. ✨

Every client, every launch, every pause it all teaches you something if you’re paying attention.

💛 Save this post for when you need the reminder: growth doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it’s just you, showing up with a little more clarity than yesterday.

Which one of these lessons hit home for you? I’d love to hear it. ⬇️

October is always our busiest month of the year, but for once I’m not feeling burnt out… and that’s a major win in my books! 🥳

All year, I’ve been prioritizing life outside of running our business, and it’s really showing this month. Even though we’re in the thick of shoots and glued to our screens editing, I’m so grateful for the pockets of personal time I still get — gym dates with Alex, quality family time, hobbies, and just actually living ✨

My routine is basically non-existent right now (as you may have seen in stories this week 😂), and while I’m not proud of that… I am proud of the peace I’m feeling right now.

So tell me — what’s one thing you’re proud of this month? Big, small, business or personal… I want to celebrate you! 🍂💛

Here’s to November! Let’s do this. 💪

The moment Vs the photos ✨

From test shots and tiny adjustments to that one click where everything just works it’s all part of the fun.

Every final image you see starts with a little chaos, a lot of laughter, and the kind of teamwork that makes it all worth it.

There’s something so satisfying about seeing it all come together the setup, the energy, the vision, and then that perfect frame.

Because around here, we don’t just take photos we create them. 🤍

✨ Meet Jennifer the intuitive mind behind whole-body healing 💛

As a Mind & Body Coach and Osteopath, Jennifer helps her clients uncover the emotional roots of their physical pain guiding them to heal deeply and feel truly whole.

Her approach goes far beyond symptom management. She helps people reconnect with their bodies, understand the emotions behind their pain, and begin the journey toward lasting transformation.

What I love most about Jennifer’s work is her calm, grounded energy. Every word she speaks carries compassion and wisdom reminding you that healing isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence. Her goal for this photoshoot was to share what life can be like when you’ve done the work to heal. “”Helping people remember who they were before the pain, and who they’re still capable of becoming”” 💛

I am so fascinated by her work and was so excited to do this shoot with her! Aside from headshots and working shots, we focued the majority of the shoot on representing the 7 chakras through colour, body parts, and the activities one can do to help balance their chakras. Thank you Jennifer for trusting me with this process and sharing your work and brilliant mind with me!

Your branding shoot doesn’t just capture what you do, but WHY you do it The hope and outcome for the people you serve. If this aligns with your vision for yourself, let’s chat 💛

As the year comes to a close, take a moment to pause not to rush into resolutions, but to reflect. 🌿

Ask yourself:
✨ What am I proud of this year?
✨ What did I learn about myself and my business?
✨ What do I want to bring into 2026 and what can I let go of?

Your growth deserves to be seen.
Your visuals should tell the story of where you’re going, not just where you’ve been.

If you’re ready to step into 2026 with intention, confidence, and a brand that truly feels like you, I’d love to create that story together. 💛
