Hi, I’m Jess — owner & operator of Designer Dogs 🐾✨

Born and raised in Northumberland County. I’ve been grooming for 7 years, and before that I spent 8 years working at a local pet store (which is where many of you may know me from!).

I’m certified through CPPS and the National Cat Groomers Institute, offer hand stripping and cat grooming, and have been honoured to win local Northumberland Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Pet Groomer.

I truly love every pet that comes through the door and treat them like they’re my own. Their comfort, safety, and care always come first. Your pets are in loving hands when they’re on my table 💖

My vision for the salon is simple: a warm, welcoming space where you and your pets feel like family — with professional, clean, high-quality grooming, and a place where groomers can continue to learn, grow, and be creative.

I’m so thankful and blessed to be leading the amazing team at Designer Dogs and caring for all of your wonderful pets. 🤍🐾

Meet the friendly face behind the front desk (and the bath tub) 🧼

She’s been part of the Designer Dogs family for 4.5 years, helping keep tails wagging and pups looking their best. Having always had pets of her own, her love for animals runs deep — especially when it comes to Australian Shepherds, which hold a special place in her heart.

Her passion for animals doesn’t stop at the salon either. It’s something she’s proudly passed down to her kids and grandkids, making it a true family love.

Meet Brie! ✨🐾

We’re so excited to welcome Brie to our grooming team!
Brie brings 13 years of professional grooming experience and an incredible eye for detail. She has groomed in the Canadian Kennel Club show ring and has won multiple awards in the competitive grooming ring, reflecting her skill, creativity, and dedication to her craft.

When she’s not making pups look their absolute best, Brie is a proud dog mom to her black lab, Bageera, and a lifelong animal lover.

We’re so lucky to have her as part of our team, and we can’t wait for you and your pups to meet her! Brie actually used to work with Jess, and was one of the groomers who taught Jess! 🐶✂️

With many years of professional experience working with dogs, her love for animals shines through in every groom. She’s dedicated to making sure every pup leaves looking great, feeling comfortable, and getting plenty of care along the way.

Happy International Women’s Day 💖🦋🌿🌸💫

Today we’re reflecting on the incredible women behind Designer Dogs Cobourg. While we’re so thankful for the men who helped make this dream come true, we are a women-run, woman-owned small business—and I think that’s something pretty special.

I’m going to get a little personal for a moment. Just a few years ago I was a single mom with a newborn baby, completely on my own and going through some pretty unimaginable things. It was the women in my life who continued to inspire and uplift me, reminding me that I was beautiful and capable of amazing things.
I worked myself to the bone to build a life for myself and my daughter—and here we are four years later. Not only do I get to show my children the value of hard work and following your dreams, but I get to create an environment where other women can learn, grow, and thrive too.

I feel so thankful for the team of women behind Designer Dogs. Every day we put our best foot forward, helping pets and their humans alike, trying new things, and supporting each other along the way.

Here’s to the women in your life—may we always remember how empowering it is to be a woman, and to make the world a little better of a place 🤍🤍
