Youth Hospital admissions have tripled over the course of the Covid pandemic, and experts expect those numbers to continuously increase. Suicidality, Eating Disorders, Anxiety, and Depression continue to emerge in young adults who are facing challenging restrictions and isolation.

📢The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly altered the daily lives of most Canadians. There has been ongoing concern that the impacts of the pandemic, such as those listed here, are having serious negative effects on our mental health.

In a recent survey regarding the Pandemic Impacts on Mental Health by Statistics Canada, only 55% of Canadians report having excellent or very good mental health. Youth aged 15-24 were the least likely to report excellent or very good mental health. They report the greatest declines- 20% point reduction from 60% (pre-Covid) to 40% (July 2020).
