Valentine’s Day (and all the feels it brings!) feels like a perfect opportunity to share that my friends Kailea Switzer and Kevin Myles Wilson and I wrote a children’s book called “I Feel That Way Too” .... and it is finally available!

We put a lot of love into this, keeping the words simple to leave space for parents, kid, teacher, grandparents or any caregiver to share stories of times they felt tricky emotions. Our hope is that this helps bring moments of meaningful connection and the idea that all feelings, even the hard ones are important, normal and valid. And, most importantly, we can lean on those we love when we need them most. If you are interested in checking it out it is available here:

I always resonate with Esther Perel’s wisdom, this is no exception. Genuine apologies are so hard, yet always worth it.

I always resonate with Esther Perel’s wisdom, this is no exception. Genuine apologies are so hard, yet always worth it.

A strong, meaningful apology goes a long way in repairing major and minor rifts in any relationship. Intellectually, we know this. Apologizing is one of the first relationship skills we learn as young children. But it’s a skill that needs to grow with us. When we first learn to apologize, we often do it because we are told we need to—apologize to your brother for taking his toy. Say you’re sorry to your classmate for not including them in the game. The other child is told to reply I forgive you. There is a clear outcome of this dance: repair in the service of getting back to what matters—play.

To learn more about artful and meaningful apology, visit this month’s blog through the link below and try it out. I’d love to hear how your next apology goes.

I work with the whole you in a safe, curious, and validating way.

I do not take a one size fits all approach, but instead, work with you as the unique person you are. We can explore your identity, values, and life experiences and then work collaboratively to understand the role they play in driving your current habits and coping mechanisms.

Then, as a team, we create and accomplish therapeutic goals that are tailored to you. Our conversations will hold elements of self-reflection, self-compassion, understanding the meanings behind life’s challenges and tangible skills that help you feel a difference, fast.

The first step is recognizing you don’t need to get through it alone. I can help you with your experience of stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, parenting challenges, self-esteem, confidence or communication skills. Please reach out to schedule a free, 15-minute consultation so I can hear what you are looking for in your therapy journey and for you to see if I am a good fit for you.

I am proud to share that I am entering the final stage of my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University where I come with a strong foundation of proven approaches and additional certifications.

As I complete my required hours for full certification, I work very closely with a supervisor and an experienced collective of therapists to ensure a thorough approach and high-quality care.

Why The Whole You? This is twofold.

First, I believe everyone deserves to feel whole, that is to say, living with purpose, feeling confident, calm, and meaningfully connected to themselves and others. It also means healing the areas of our life that have left us feeling hurt, alone and maybe even broken.

Secondly, my approach is not one size fits all. I work to understand the whole you; your unique life experiences, identity, values and beliefs. Then, we tailor our approach and therapeutic goals so they are meaningful to you.
