I was recently graced by an office visit from Hamilton's RCCG Chapel of Praise. This dedicated church provides much support to the Hamilton community and is a living example of faith, goodness, generosity, and genuine caring for others. What a privilege to welcome you to City Hall, Pastor Emmanuel Otiotio, Ejike Emekalam, Seyi Olutayo, and Olusegun Akinwande! I look forward to welcoming you back again soon. .praise

Today, from 11:00am - 2:30pm, and select Sundays coming up: is at it again, drumming up Hamilton Mountain community spirit at Ward 7's Eastmount Centre! Once a month, you can get the kids involved in MKK's "Kid Entrepreneur Market," where kids can sell their own creations to real customers! Proceeds towards local autism support.

Make sure to note these additional dates in the coming months too: Sunday, May 31st, and Sunday, June 28th. Kathy Archer and her team are really hitting a home run with this idea!! Bravo!! 👏

Standing with Hamilton's Armenian community today as Armenians across Canada and worldwide are observing Armenian Genocide Memorial Day. May heartfelt remembrance of this dark chapter in history offer homage to those whose lives were tragically, unjustly taken, as well as comfort to their families left behind.

One thing the recent Artemis II mission reminded us is that we are one on our shared home, Earth. (And a huge shout-out to Canadian Space Agency Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen for his stellar role in this fascinating deep space exploration. You made Canada so proud!)

Tomorrow, and every April 22, is International Earth Day, a helpful annual reminder of our collective role as stewards of our earth and our own communities.

This week especially, consider ways you can help preserve our city's beautiful parks, trails, streets, and public spaces.

There are a number of initiatives you can partake in, with details found at this link https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/environmental-stewardship/community-environmental-initiatives/team-clean or by scanning the QR code in the image.

You can also take advantage of a Spring Compost Giveaway happening on April 25 from 7:00am - 12:00pm in Ward 7's Turner Park. https://www.hamilton.ca/things-do/festivals-events/events-calendar/spring-compost-giveaway-4

Also, this Saturday, April 25th, from 9am till noon, there is a Concession Street 'Beautiful Alleyways' cleanup where you can meet at 534 Concession St (BIA office). For any questions or clean-up supplies for clean-up in your own area, contact Faye Grasley, grasleyfaye@gmail.com. 🌍

Hamilton Police Service continues to offer valuable Youth Town Hall sessions regarding bear spray use, which has become a problem of concern among youth in our city.

If you've missed the first two sessions, there is one more in-person session tomorrow, as well as an online version in May.

Thank you, for offering these Town Halls, where parents, caregivers, and youth, can access important information about bear spray use and its risks.

Team Up to Clean Up is a year-round city-wide community cleanup program that helps keep public places in our neighbourhoods clean and safe for everyone. I've hosted several of these and they're very rewarding for everyone involved.

This program provides all the tools you need to run a community cleanup including gloves, and specially marked garbage bags. You can host a clean up event on City property including parks, trails, alleyways, streets and parking lots.
