Access Midwives

Access Midwives A group of registered midwives providing prenatal, birth, and postpartum care in Hamilton, Ontario. We are a group of midwives with many diverse backgrounds.

Access Midwives is a midwifery practice serving the Stoney Creek, Hamilton, Dundas, Burlington and West Grimsby areas. We know that pregnancy and childbirth are a profound time in a woman’s life, imbued with a variety of personal and cultural meanings, and are best approached in a non-authoritarian manner, providing choice of birthplace, continuity of care, informed choice and recognizing the woman as the primary decision maker. Midwives are experts in the provision of primary care for women anticipating normal, low risk pregnancy and birth. Valuing and respecting diversity is integral to the provision of midwifery care. We come from the arts, the sciences, and from the community and we work together to provide you with the highest standard of midwifery care. Here at Access Midwives we provide your family with personalized prenatal, labour, birth and postpartum care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We offer home and hospital birth and we have admitting privileges at McMaster Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare. All midwives in our practice are registered with the College of Midwives of Ontario and are also members of the Association of Ontario Midwives. In Ontario, midwives work as primary care providers and are fully funded and there is no additional charge to you. If you would be interested in having a midwife please contact us at (905) 546-5002 once you know you are pregnant. We would be happy to have you join our clinic and provide you with empowering and individualized care.
