On Monday Apri 27th, the 64th Girl Guides helped clean up the area around the Bruce Trail in Rosedale! They have been working hard on completing their Lady Baden-Powell Award since February, and choose this as the service component. 🌿🧹

We’re especially proud to share that some of these hardworking Guides are the children of Emily, one of our Funeral Directors here at L.G. Wallace Funeral Home 💙

L.G. Wallace was happy to support the effort by providing gloves, sanitizer, and pick‑up sticks. After all their hard work, the girls enjoyed well‑deserved hotdogs and snacks prepared by the Ventures from the 31st Hamilton Scouts 🌭

Working alongside the Team Up to Clean Up! initiative, the youth collected an impressive 6 bags of garbage. We love seeing young people making such a positive impact in our community!

Today marks the National Day of Mourning, a time to pause and honour the lives lost, or forever changed, by workplace tragedy.

It is also a moment to reflect on our shared responsibility to care for one another, and to remain committed to safer, healthier workplaces for all.

Today, we honour every life, recognize the families and coworkers who continue to grieve, and stand together in compassion and remembrance.

🖤 We remember. We honour. We remain committed.

Here's to an end of an era 🥂

On Wednesday, April 22nd, we gathered together to celebrate and wish our dear Paul Shedden, Manager of LG Wallace Funeral Home, a very happy retirement. 🎉

Thank you to everyone who joined us to share kind words, well wishes, and memories as Paul embarks on his next chapter. We are incredibly grateful to Paul for his 16 years of dedication, leadership, and commitment, which have left a lasting impact on our team and the families we serve.

We would also like to extend a big thank you to our Dodsworth & Brown Ancaster location, for so graciously hosting the event. The evening was filled with delicious food, drinks, and plenty of laughs, making it a truly special celebration.

Paul, we wish you all the very best in your well‑earned retirement, and future endeavors! 💙

In moments of grief, it can be hard to remind ourselves of a brighter time than where we stand right now.

This is a gentle reminder to embrace gratitude as a form of remembrance. Let's be grateful that our lives were touched by the people we are mourning, the love they gave, the memories they left behind, and the impact they will always have on us.

National Advance Care Planning Day is a good reminder to take a moment and think about what matters most to you.

Advance care planning is about reflecting on your values and sharing your healthcare wishes with the people you trust. Starting these conversations early can help make future decisions clearer for everyone involved.

However small, steps taken today can bring reassurance and mutual understanding for your family tomorrow.
