Alongside the incredible work our volunteers, doulas, midwives, and outreach team are doing through Obodo Maternal Care at Hamilton Urban Core, we’re taking time to learn from you.

We’re running a research study to help us adapt Obodo so it truly reflects our community, strengthens care over time, and addresses barriers faced by Black and other equity‑deserving new mothers and families.

You can help. If you’re expecting, a new mother, or have breastfeeding experience, you can participate by:
• Completing an online survey
• Attending an in‑person focus group at the Hamilton Urban Core Centre

As a thank‑you, you’ll receive a $25 Walmart gift card.
Questions? Email nnoor@hucchc.com.
Your experiences and suggestions will help us build a maternal care program that truly represents our community and celebrates our culture. 💛 Please share widely.

📣 Join our Peer Support Program!

The Obodo Maternal Health program provides community-based, culturally responsive care—supporting prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal health for underserved communities. Our cultural breastfeeding clinic offers tailored support to families, focusing on breastfeeding education, initiation, and continuation—while honoring each family’s cultural beliefs and traditions.

We’re recruiting **10 peer supporters** with lived breastfeeding experience. You’ll join our team to support new parents as they learn to breastfeed—encouraging, affirming, and nurturing families in culturally meaningful ways. **Training is provided** and you’ll be accompanied by staff.

If you’re passionate about helping parents and babies thrive, we’d love to hear from you.
