This Volunteer Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating the people who show up with care, consistency, and community spirit — like Megane Bobrun.
Megane volunteers at Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre, supporting events from set-up to making sure guests feel welcomed and supported when they arrive.
One of her favourite parts of volunteering has been outreach, where she connects with people across our community and helps share information about the Centre’s programs and services.
Megane is building hands-on experience as she works toward her future career in nursing, and we’re grateful for the compassion and energy she brings to our mission.
💙 Thank you, Megane — and thank you to every volunteer who helps strengthen community health, one interaction at a time

It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week — and we’re feeling incredibly grateful. 💙

Volunteers like Lyndsay Carter bring empathy, encouragement, and lived-experience understanding to our Mental Health and Addiction Treatment (MHAT) Unit at Hamilton Urban Core. By meeting people where they’re at and helping create a welcoming, stigma-free space, Lyndsay reminds clients that recovery is possible — and sustainable.

From outreach conversations to connecting people with counselling, Seeds of Change, and basic supports like showers and laundry, Lyndsay’s presence helps spark hope and dignity in moments that matter.

Thank you, Lyndsay — and thank you to every volunteer who shows up with compassion. You’re making a real difference. 🙏
