🎄Keep Your Pets Safe This Holiday Season🐾
The holidays are filled with fun and joy, but for pets, they can also be full of risks. protect your furry family members by keeping an eye out for dangers.

🎁 Hazards Pets May Swallow
• Decorations: Tinsel, ribbons, small ornaments, and tree needles can cause choking or blockages.
• Food Dangers: Chocolate, grapes, raisins, xylitol (found in sugar-free candy), alcohol, nuts (Macadamia, Almonds, Walnuts, Pecans) and rich holiday meals are toxic to pets.
• Plants: Poinsettias, mistletoe, and holly can be poisonous if ingested.

⚡ Accidents Waiting to Happen
• Christmas Trees: Pets may knock them over or chew on lights and needles. Secure your tree and keep it pet proof.
• Cords & Lights: Chewing on cords can lead to electric shock. Tape them down or hide them.
• Candles: Keep candles high and out of reach, one swipe of a tail could cause a fire.

🐕 Extra Tips for a Stress-Free Season
• Create a quiet space for pets to escape the holiday chaos.
• Watch for signs of stress, like hiding or changes in behaviour.
• Keep trash bins closed, leftover food and wrapping paper can be dangerous.

Leptospirosis has unfortunately become more prevalent over the last few years. The Leptospirosis vaccine is considered a core vaccine and it is recommended that it be given to most dogs. Please refer to the article below for more information/clarification.

The AAHA 2022 Canine Vaccination Guidelines have now officially been updated to reflect a change in status of the leptospirosis vaccine from non-core to core.
