Creating essential oils is quite the process! Did you know it takes a significant amount of raw plant material to produce even a small amount of these precious oils? Here's an approximate idea of what's needed to get just 5 mL of some popular essential oils:

🌹 Rose: Prepare to be amazed! It can take thousands of rose petals – often around 10,000 pounds – to produce just 1 pound (about 450 mL) of rose essential oil. So, for 5 mL, you'd still need a substantial amount, likely over 100 pounds of rose petals! It's no wonder this oil is so highly prized.

🌿 Peppermint: Thankfully, peppermint is a bit more generous! You'd typically need around 250 pounds of fresh peppermint leaves and flowering tops to yield just 1 pound (about 450 mL) of essential oil. Therefore, for 5 mL, you're looking at roughly a little under 3 pounds of peppermint.

💜 Lavender: Lavender is another relatively good yielder. It generally takes about 100 pounds of fresh lavender flowers to produce 1 pound (about 450 mL) of essential oil. So, for 5 mL, you'd need approximately just over 1 pound of lavender flowers.

🌱 Tea Tree: Tea tree is also known for its relatively higher yield. It typically requires around 100 pounds of tea tree leaves and small branches to produce 1 pound (about 450 mL) of essential oil. For 5 mL, you'd need roughly just over 1 pound of tea tree leaves and branches.
