Woohoo! Been craving a warm, hearty soup — ’tis the season 🍂

I made a big pot of roasted butternut squash + carrot soup with apple, ginger, garlic, onion, and broth.

Root veggies are total comfort food — rich in vitamins to support the immune system, gentle on little tummies, and deeply nourishing to the Stomach and Spleen systems in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

In TCM, Fall corresponds to the Lung and Large Intestine systems, which help us release what we no longer need — physically and emotionally. These organs are our first line of defense against seasonal illness. Eating warm, cooked, grounding foods like root vegetables and aromatic herbs (ginger, garlic, onion) helps strengthen these systems, support immunity, and protect against the dryness and chill in the air.

The Spleen and Stomach also thrive on warm, lightly sweet, easy-to-digest meals — keeping digestion strong and energy stable as the weather cools.
