This December, a young hockey player and his team from Haldimand chose to honour the memory of Benny’s mom, Kathleen, who passed away at the hospice in June 2025. 💙
They collected items from our wish list and filled two pickup trucks with much needed goodies. A truly beautiful act of remembrance and generosity. Thank you for turning love into action.

💙 A Heartwarming Story Behind a Special Gift 💙

Last week, we received a meaningful $5,000 donation with an incredible story attached - one that connects back to Dr. Bob himself and his beloved 1970 Cougar.

For years, Dr. Bob’s Cougar rolled through countless parades and community events, helping raise awareness for the hospice movement in Stoney Creek before our hospice was even built. When Dr. Bob stopped driving it, the car made its way through family hands and eventually became a quirky roadside landmark outside a small body shop near Belleville, ON.

Despite its sentimental value, the car was well past its driving days. The shop owner put a “for sale” sign on it with a seemingly impossible price: $5,000. And then, against all odds, someone paid it.

In an incredibly generous gesture, the shop owner gifted half of the sale proceeds back to the family, knowing how much the car meant. The family then chose to donate that amount, plus more, to support Dr. Bob and Mildred’s dream: the Bob Kemp Hospice and the Kemp Care Network.

Stories like this remind us how deeply our community is connected to the heart and history of our hospice. 💛

Thank you to this wonderful family — your kindness keeps Dr. Bob’s legacy alive.

Activity Spotlight: Climbing with Courage 💪

This activity allows us to face challenges and fears we may have. Rock climbing can be a lot like helping each other through grief. When you begin your climb, you may need someone there to hold the rope and cheer you on—someone who makes sure you're safe, even when the path gets hard. Sometimes when you are sad or grieving, you need people to support you, listen to you, and be there when the climb feels too steep. Sometimes you slip or feel stuck, but with a friend beside you, you find the strength to keep going. Climbing shows us that we don’t have to face tough times alone—we can lift each other up, one step at a time.

Registration is OPEN! ✨
This year the camp will be held on June 5th-7th 2026.
