Children grieve differently, and often in ways that aren’t immediately visible. Their emotions can show up in play, in bursts of energy, in quiet moments, or in questions asked long after the loss. They may move in and out of their feelings quickly, needing comfort one moment and connection the next.
Did you know there are 757,596 bereaved children in Canada?
On Children’s Grief Awareness Day, we’re reminded that every child needs understanding, patience, and a safe place to explore their grief at their own pace.
That’s why programs like Camp Keaton are so important, creating supportive spaces where children can express themselves, connect with peers, and feel seen. 💙
