🍃 Wildly Cultivated & Hand Picked. Did you know, that all herbs I use are grown here in my gardens or foraged locally from spots I have been watching and tending in the wilds for years!
Slow is the game, letting the herbs infuse to their maximum abilities over several weeks. Here Calendula & Rose are paired mindfully in my 'Joyful Glow' face oil, these two skin loving botanicals are known for their soothing, anti inflammatory properties and together they create a light floral scent that is gentle and fresh. The carrier oils of choice are Jojoba (similar to skjns sebum) and Grapeseed for their anti inflammatory, antioxidant rich qualities. They are fast absorbing & lightweight (truly, this pair doesn't feel thick on skin!)
Next batch will be available in 2oz bottles in April 🥀

☀️Today was a Good Day.
Sun hit just right as my winter sidekick and I played in the snow. Followed some itty bitty tracks, listened to the Chickadees, tossed snowballs, nd just took in the fresh air.

❄ MidWinter, still very much in stillnes, hearth & home as we slowly plan for the season to come. Seeds to plant, cozy mornings with pen and paper, evenings by the fire reading, nature still covered in white velvet and sun shines just a little stronger.

~Red Bird~
Red bird came all winter
Firing up the landscape
As nothing else could.
Of course I love the sparrows,
Those dun-colored darlings,
So hungry and so many.
I am a God-fearing feeder of birds,
I know he has many children,
Not all of them bold in spirit.
Still, for whatever reason-
Perhaps because the winter is so long
And the sky so black-blue,
Or perhaps because the heart narrows
As often as it opens-
I am grateful
That red bird comes all winter
Firing up the landscape
As nothing else can do.

Homemade granola, a wholesome addition to any kitchen. As cereal, topping on yogurt, ice cream or sprinkled on a baked apple pie, it's so good. I make this particular recipe a lot, I eat this almost daily with plain yogurt topped with either frozen berries or chopped fruit, sometimes a little local honey or maple syrup is drizzled overtop, add a pinch of cinnamon and you have the perfect snack.
🥣Make a bowl, curl up cozy with a blanket by the fire or next to the window on a beautiful snowy day with calm Christmas jazz softly playing in the background, sip on some tea and read. It's not just food, it is ritual, small moments of making something nutritious and enjoying it ♡
Ingredients: old Fashioned Oats, Maple Syrup, Coconut Oil, Cinnamon, Salt, Chia Seeds, H**p Hearts, Pecans, Pepitas & Flax Seed.
Sold in 8oz or 16oz.

The calendar may say late fall but Mother Nature says it's time for Winter ❄ and I agree, let's all slow down, enjoy this season, cozy with blankets, handiwork, books, mugs of hot drinks, old movies, candles and fire.
Rest, there will be time for busywork when spring arrives ♡

Many of us are tactile beings, whether we are aware of it or not, we make decisions based on how something feels. Texture be it physical or visual patterns is deeply connected to our comfort, influencing our emotional & physical senses.
Smooth often associated with calm and peace while Rougher textures are more grounding, by mixing these two elements when it comes to yarn you end up with a piece rich in comfort.
I remember running my hands over pieces that my Grandmother or Aunt had made marveling at the textures, the stitches and colours, still doing the same as I choose yarns for patterns or patterns for yarns, it's the tactile experience that tell you yay or nay to any piece be it clothing or home wares, it all comes down to texture and colour of course 😊
This Cowl requested by a lady for her very good friend who needed the perfect plum colour, in this specific yarn, knit with lots of texture to keep the friends neck very warm and I think this piece will do the job just fine. What a lovely Birthday Present this will be 💫❤💫

Join together, baste, embroider, spruce up, garnish, and cramp are words found to describe a STITCH, funny things words are just one can have so many meanings, it can mean something beautifully and artfully put together or a pain in the neck, quite literally, especially if you do not take a time out to stretch, grab a cup of coffee and relax for a few minutes. It is so easy to get completely wrapped in what you are doing you forget to take care of yourself and if it applies your creative business. Which is something I have taken most of the last couple of months to do, a re-evaluation of where I want to be with my stitches, planning my gardens, researching creative techniques and learning new skills not just to help with the actual stitching side of things but with the creative process you don’t see, the business side of business and learning how to put all of it together, to spruce it up and add some garnish if you please :)
I don’t usually write for the masses, as my many journals will tell you, so please bear with me as I do. Amongst the words above used to describe stitches are the oh so relevant ones that give a more personal meaning to Angela’s Stitches and what I want to produce from my works. I’ll take you with me on GATHERING adventures and introducing you to as many beautiful people and shops who EMBROIDER our wonderful creative world with their arts as possible. For it’s in this community of support we truly grow together creating a thread and stitch that will last a lifetime.
You may also find everyday or not so everyday GARNISH in the form of quotes or random tidbits of information that may or may not be of use to you but I find interesting, like this lovely word...

These notes will become my blog and in my writings you will get to know me better and I hope I will get to know each of you better as well. I’d love to hear from you, who you are, where are you from and what are your favorite cozy knits? After all it is partly because of you I create :)
