The body remembers what the mind can’t put into words.
Preverbal trauma— is any stressor experienced in utero, during birth, or within the first year of life—and can fundamentally affect the developing brain.
As these children grow, this can manifest as:
>Emotional responses that feel "out of proportion."
>Difficulty coping with the slightest stressor in comparison to peers or siblings.
>Children presenting with behavioral challenges that are often misunderstood or misdiagnosed.
The good news? The brain is not fixed, we can rewire it. By understanding the preverbal trauma and using targeted interventions, we can leverage neuroplasticity to help "rewire" pathways toward healing and safety.
As a counsellor specializing in preverbal trauma, I work with families to decode these early signals and guide your child toward a healthier emotional future.
Early intervention isn’t just about support—it’s about changing the trajectory of a life.
