You may have heard about laser therapy and wondered how it works and who it’s for.
Let’s start with what laser is NOT.
The type of laser used to perform surgery, Lazik eye surgery for example, is a totally different kind of laser.
The laser I’m telling you about today is called Cold Laser, or Soft Laser because it does not cut you or vaporize your cells. Cold, Soft Laser is an invisible laser used to stimulate acupuncture and acupressure points that are located all over your body, from head to toe.
You can consider Laser Therapy a cousin to Acupuncture and Acupressure.
Acupuncture uses needles. Acupressure uses pressure. Laser Therapy uses light.
Laser Therapy is more appealing to many because of the following differences:
► there are no needles to have to consider hygiene, pain, and phobias
► you do not feel the laser itself, just the positive effects of the laser treatment
► treatment is far less time consuming, only seconds per point, making treatment time approximately 20 minutes instead of one hour or more.
How Cold, Soft Laser Works
Stimulating pressure points balances your meridians. This is balance - not suppressing or over stimulating anything - only achieving proper flow.
#1 Reason we love laser therapy... Release Endorphins – Your “Happy Hormone”
When stimulated with a cold laser beam, specific points on the body signal the brain to release endorphins.
One key factor of endorphins is to reduce the overproduction of stress hormones, most importantly cortisol. This very necessary hormone, cortisol, becomes an enemy in larger quantities.
When triggered by our “fight or flight” response, cortisol is responsible for making you feel edgy, irritable, and down right angry. This hormone can also cause poor sleeping habits, difficulty concentrating, and increased abdominal fat.
This alone explains why laser therapy is so effectively used to help
◆ smokers to Quit Smoking,
◆ people struggling with weight issues to Lose or Maintain Weight
◆ reduce Anxiety and its harmful effects
◆ cope with and alleviate Pain
But that’s not all. Laser is also used to…
• Stimulate your detoxifying organs to release toxins out of your body and reduce inflammation
• Stimulate your metabolism so you burn fat more effectively
• Appetite suppressant points help you feel satisfied and avoid over eating
• Relax! Stimulating anxiety points cause you to feel very relaxed by the half way point of your treatment! This also reduces cortisol, so you have come full circle.
Who Laser Therapy is For
Laser therapy is successfully used for weight loss, anxiety, stress, pain and digestion, as well as treating addictions such as smoking, drugs, and alcohol. Laser therapy has also been used to effectively overcome self loathing habits including hair pulling and self-mutilation.
Treatment Plan
The session takes approximately 20 minutes and the effects of one treatment will last on average 28-35 days.
Most clients can feel the positive effects of the treatment wearing off and know when to book another session, while others have their treatment repeated about the same day every month to reduce weight or stress.
Many who have reached their goal weight do not need any more treatments to maintain, while others feel the benefits of further treatment because of a stressful situation or a fast-paced lifestyle adding stress to their lives.
Smokers only require one treatment – they arrive a smoker and leave a non-smoker... period!
