So far the summer has been very hot and humid which is very uncomfortable weather for all of us but especially the alpacas. There's been lots of pool parties and lazy days spent in the barn in front of big fans.
We are so excited that some of our beautiful yarn as arrived from the mill ~ grown with love by our alpacas.
And of course we can't forget Rosa and Junebug who are growing so fast.

We are so fortunate to have Brigadoon Fiber Farm weaving the yarn from our alpacas into these beautiful throws. Locally grown and handcrafted, it doesn’t get any better. I can’t wait to have them in our shop.

Isn't this colour pretty! Can you believe the fawn is from a local alpaca farm and they've sent it to us to have woven up!
We are accepting bookings for custom weaving, either entirely your own Fibre or a mix of yours and ours!
Haven't had custom spinning done before? We can weave almost any Fibre, into any product! Everything that leaves our studio is prepped and ready for sale, gifting, or use!
Check out our "custom weaving" information and pricing on our website or send us a message for a chat 💛 ❤️ 💙

And then there were two.......Rumble's Rosa arrived a week ago in a "surprise I'm here" kind of way. We knew first time mom Jay jay was getting close and we watched her like a hawk. We fed them as usual at supper time and Jay jay seemed her same cranky, first time I'm pregnant, self. The following morning over coffee we checked our cameras and see this new little one in the barn. Of course we rush down and find this cutie already dry, up and about and nursing. So we did our usual routine with new cria/mom etc and once all were settled we checked the video. We saw the perfect birth at 9:00 pm at night. This is outside a normal birthing time for Alpacas and can often mean that something might be wrong but that is not the case in this scenario. Rosa is healthy and 1st time Mom Jay jay is awesome. Moral of the story... All's well that ends well.

Spring on the farm is usually a time of anticipation, stress and joy. Filled with prayers that mother nature, weather and watchful eyes will all align to welcome new healthy babies. Having first time moms, that don't always seem to know what's happening, intensifies all of these emotions. Over the years we have found that the best possible arrival is on a warm sunny day, in the pasture with all the herd and us near by.
Zenica (a first time mom) was the first to bless our farm with a new arrival on June 1st. Junebug (girl) arrived in the pasture with us present but on a cloudy, rainy day. That means extra care is needed to keep baby warm, get them to the barn and ensure that bond between mom and baby remains. Other than the weather everything was prefect. Zenica is a perfect example of what we hope for in a first time mom - she is very attentive and patient with Junebug, standing perfectly still while Junebug discovers the milk bar.
Welcome our first cria Junebug.

When looking for a place for your dog to stay always ask these 3 questions..
🐾Are they legally operating, are they inspected by the spca, if so what is their number?
🐾Are they insured should something happen to your dog?
🐾Do they have pet first aid, specify dog first aid and CPR?

If they answer no to any of these, move onto the next boarding facility. Find a safe space for your pet to stay.

Just cause it is cheaper doesn't mean the care is top quality!

Petitmor Family Alpacas

We are an Alpaca Farm located at 8245 Route 126 Harcourt, New Brunswick (north of Moncton). We fell in love with Alpacas in 2012 when we purchased our first pair. Since then we have grown to a herd size of approximately twenty, most of the time. Our alpacas share the farm with a variety of other animals such as chickens, geese, miniature horses and donkeys. We learned to shear our own alpacas and now shear other herds throughout New Brunswick in the spring of the year. We also sharpen clipper blades. Thanks for visiting our page Bart and Jan Petley
