đżWhen ADHD Shows Up in Big Feelings
Children with ADHD are often navigating a lot more internally than people realize.
They may want to focus⌠but their brain keeps pulling them in different directions. They may want to stay calm⌠but their emotions move faster than they can manage. They may want to do well at school⌠but frustration or overwhelm gets in the way.
Over time, these struggles can begin to affect confidence.
Children may start believing they are âbad,â âtoo much,â or âalways in troubleâ when in reality their nervous system simply needs different kinds of support.
Counselling can help children better understand their emotions, their reactions, and how their body responds to stress.
Elaine works with children in ways that feel natural and engaging for them â using conversation alongside creative outlets like games, drawing, music, and journaling. These approaches allow kids to explore emotions and build regulation skills in a way that feels safe.
Parents often carry a lot through this journey as well â navigating school concerns, emotional outbursts, and the constant worry of wanting to help their child succeed.
Counselling can support both children and parents in understanding ADHD, building emotional regulation tools, and strengthening confidence at home and at school.
If this feels familiar for your family, youâre welcome to explore whether counselling may be supportive.
Your first 30-minute session is complimentary.
